Why should I get this one vs. other cheaper universal extenders on Amazon? Pro/con? I have a 5200 sqft home and want faster more reliable signal to TV

It's the best. I buy nothing without reading the reviews. I give this unit 10 stars. I just took 3 minutes to hook it up and walked to the back of my yard with a kindle fire connected and at 200 feet, the back fence, I still had full bars. Now, I can play my music back there under a tree with great signal. I had others, they didn't work. This one has NO equal. It's just the best, PERIOD. 6/13/2016. I used it as an extender for wifi.

I would like to use it as an extender. How do I know where the best place for it is? Do I just plug it ito the wall?

There's some suggestions to plug in next to existing router that you are trying to extend. However, I have plugged in roughly 100ft away and it's extended my network another 100ft from there. So you might just have to play with it to see what works best for your situation. Bottom line, you can plug into any outlet to test, so play with it to see what works best.
