Lives up to the Campbell's Name
I love Campbell's Chunky Clam Chowder, it is the only canned soup I buy. I decided to give this new version a try, my one complaint would be that's spicier than I thought it would be. I have only had Old Bay Seasoning in crab cakes which were delicious, and not overly spicy. This had quite a kick which will be perfect for those who like a little heat. That being said, it was otherwise good. Not overly salty or sweet in my opinion. I didn't read the reviews before purchasing, if I had I probably wouldn't have bought it. But the price was good especially with the 20% coupon, which made it a great value. With the addition of Ritz crackers which helped with the spiciness, it was fine. Overall I would would rate it 4.5 amped up to 5.0 with the $7.70 savings. Going forward I will stick with the original which I love, it's just getting harder to find especially at an affordable price.

Good but could be better
I love New England Clam chowder and sadly there just aren't many places that make a mean one. The best you can do is Campbells. I do like the taste of their "chunky" and "homestyle". So I decided to try this new 'Old Bay' variation. It's good, but nothing special. It does not taste like the regular, because the seasoning changes the flavor making it stronger. Or should I say, "saltier". Does the seasoning make it better? Not really. It just the chunky flavor with the saltiness of 'Old Bay'. Instead of having a more "white" looking soup you have a "reddish" tint to it thanks to the 'Old Bay'. As a person who has cooked with 'Old Bay' seasoning, it is not a seasoning you can just toss onto on into a stew or soup without knowing how to make it the spices involved in the mixture work, because it is very salty. Just like Lawry's seasoning salt. What I would like Campbells to do is actually take the time and make a New England Clam chowder that is on par with what the Southern or Northern fishing restaurants make. A strong clam flavor that actually sings with sound seasoning that compliments everything. But I guess this is the best Campbell's can do considering it's history. Plus, this is canned soup. Would I buy this again? Nope. I'll stick with the regular variation.

Waking Your Taste Buds With A Spicy Old Bay Clam Chowder
If I could give this 10 stars I would. This will now be my go to. absolutely delicious with touch of spice & just a little bit of heat. Flavor is out of this world. I will be adding this also to pasta dishes, even with the potatoes it contains. This is not just a soup, it is a meal. the price is so right ( please don't raise it ) Best clam Chowder I have ever had, with a homemade taste. As the old saying goes Mmm Mmm Good
