Is the water in the tank meant to leak into the base? I lifted the tank for cleaning today and the base is swamped with water!

Yes, it normal. Beacuse the water has to filtered out from the tank into the base where there is the device that generates the cold mist.

Hi, does this filter tap water to distilled? I only ask as it'll be used in my babys nursery to help him with his cough. Thanks.

Hello, this humidifier doesn't have the function to distill the tap water. It is recommended to fill purified or distilled water with the water tank to use. Also, it needs to be clean regularly as per the user manual to maintain cleaning. The user manual in PDF also has been listed in the product's listing. If there are any concerns about our product, please feel free to contact us through after-sales support which can be found in the user manual. Our helpful customer support team is always here with you.:)

Can the light be turned off? Nothing in the manual says you can.

Yes there is a small button on the front that turns the light on and off

When do you know when to change the filter?

We kindly suggest replacing the filter sponge once a month.
