Excellent quality, as expected
Needed a zero-clearance insert for making half-half-half drawers. Worked perfectly. Itโs the only one of my inserts that I donโt need a lever to remove. Smooth operation. Well worth the price.

Brand Name, As Decribed
This is a SawStop Dado Insert blank, as described in the description. Works well with the saw, as designed. Just as good as buying from the manufacturer, but buying here saves on shipping cost and time.

expensive but necessary
I thought about making one as I did for my Jet contractor saw but decided to purchase this for convenience sake.

A quality part worth the expense.
A necessary replacement when I accidentally damaged the original insert. Actually, have two and this one has only a 90 degree slot to make it a near zero clearance slot. Another is cut for angled cuts and that means a slightly wider slot. The zero degree clearance seems to give smoother edges. The design makes changing blades or adding or removing the dust shield a snap. Love almost everything about my SawStop including this insert

Works great and easier to install than thought
I was a little iffy cutting through this at first with my new dado not knowing if it would set of my cartridge but all went well. In case you don't know you have to put on your dado blades, lower it all the way down, turn it on and then crank the blade up into the insert for a custom fit. If you don't have room on the bolt for all your dado blades I was told by their great costumer service to take off the washer after a half inch. Hope this helps someone because I was unsure at first

Clears a high-bar set by SawStop products, narrowly
All in all, it works as well as the original throat insert that came with my saw. I had to make quite a few adjustments to get this to fit in my SawStop Professional cabinet saw. The rear set screws needed to be turned clockwise a significant amount before the heads of the screws on the bottom of the insert would properly hook the screws in the saw. The side-to-side wobble was very pronounced and I had to slowly adjust the side screw until it was tolerable. Cutting the slot for the blade was easy enough, though I wasn't fond of the tiny shreds of plastic that littered the shop afterward. Apparently they're impervious to dust collection. My only other complaint is that I got some blow out in the back of the slot when raising my dado blade up through the insert (following the directions). I think that it would have been prevented by putting down a thin sheet of MDF or plywood and clamping it down over the blade. The instructions tell you to put a piece of wood to the side (so the blade doesn't contact it), but that doesn't help with the blow out.
