Need a 10mm socket and wrench to install highly recommend
Second purchased of this item one of my older acs kicked the bucket and the new one is just to heavy for my liking to trust the window frame so I searched for this. Itโs easy to install.Sturdy and holds a 75lb ac with ease. The other one I have is 2 years old and still looks new. Well worth every penny. Make sure u have a 10mm wrench and socket you will need them to install this. Worst came to worst 2 pliers would work to but a lot more work.

Safety Recommendation for installing this brace....Safety First with a quality job!
Don't depend on the instructions to be easily understood. You can get a better idea of how to mount it just looking at the item itself. The biggest issue was that the brace was much smaller than the air-conditioner's "outer cabinet" which was about six inches too short to have any support to hold the unit. One needs to know that this brace may not support your air-conditioner if your unit is 15,000 BTU's or larger. After studying the contraption for any possible way to utilize it with the unit I was planning to use it with, I finally had to buy some sturdy aluminum channel which was four feet long and I cut it in half and I mounted two cross pieces across the bottom of the air-conditioner outer shell so that the mounting screws were recessed below the rails on the inside of the cabinet. The cabinet already had holes drillled every two inches so I mounted the channel so that the two cross braces would rest on the end of the brace at one point, then I mounted the other cross brace so it rested about six inches forward of the intersecting area where the horizontal surface met the attaching brace. Once I had the shell of the cabinet resting on the brace, I used self-tapping sheet metal screws to secure the air-conditioner cabinet shell to the brace. I used a masonry bit with a hammer drill to secure the brace to the window, however, since the exterior of the window had a sloping brick surface, I used some long brick masonry tapping screws to hold the end of the brace to the window. The point at which the brace crossed the outer point of the brick, I added a treated 2x4 which added one and one-half inches to the angle of the cabinet shell. The angle was still needing a few more degrees of height in order to have a 1/2 " to one-inch drop over the length of the cabinet's extension from the window. I added a 1/2-inch thick furring strip to the top edge of the 2x4 which actually shimmed the installation height to a perfect slope for the condensate to drain. The air-conditioner also had two triangular brackets which appeared to be very impractical with respect to bracing the cabinet against the brick so I discarded those brackets because my final installation was so strong, it appeared to have a much greater ability to support as much as 400 lbs. or more. I tested the brace with the method which I installed it and I'm confident that it would hold three times the weight it was designed for. Please refer to my review of the universal rubber block elsewhere in my reviews above if you have any doubt that your brace might have a tendency to "slip" once it is installed. I mounted the thick rubber block immediately below the point at which the brace was resting against the wall. I am happy that I ordered the rubber mount as a "back-up" device when I ordered the brace because prior to mounting the rubber block, the brace had such a small footprint area where it met the wall causing me to not trust the device without adding the rubber block. I spent about five minutes applying pressure to the brace before adding the rubber block and the brace failed to hold safely. Be aware that if you are concerned about making your installation "accident-free" over the course of five to ten years in advance, you can easily add the universal rubber block to any type wall and the one-inch thickness will ensure that the brace will always have an extra "helping-hand" to hold it safely against the wall. Just search on Amazon for the following: (SE JT34446RB Rubber Bench Block, 6" x 4" x 3/4", Black); Just drill a couple of holes through it and mount it with some stainless screws for the particular surface you have where the brace rests against the wall. For brick veneer, I used the standard blue masonry tapper screws that were 1 - 1/2" longer than the thickness of the rubber block. Due to the fact that my installation met several stumbling blocks due to the brace being so short, I thought I would provide the details here so that no matter what size air-conditioner you will be using with this brace, you can also have the utmost level of confidence in knowing that your installation can be extremely safe if you utilize the combination of materials that I have described here. Most of all, I am very happy to know that Amazon provides quality materials and enables me to enjoy all of my purchases. My feedback score without the use of the universal rubber block would be much lower because I was not convinced that the brace would hold the unit that I needed due to the shorter arm it has to support the medium-sized window units. It might work great for a small 5,000 BTU unit but before you do a rush installation hoping to leave "chance" to last for more than a day or two, be sure to "think ahead" and imagine how the brace might slip if the surface where it meets the wall gets wet, possibly causing the arm to slide with so much weight on it. For anyone who can read this far into my review and who can appreciate the concept of guaranteeing safety, I hope the review can be utilized to teach thousands of others who want to ensure the best method possible by investing only a few more dollars.

We have 4 mounts now and love them
I have 4 of these now. I bought 2 a year ago and they have made i stalling our air conditioners so much easier. We feel more confident sliding the heavy ac units safely onto the mount and are not over straining like we used to with the fear the ac could tip out the window when sliding the window down to secure it. We have a few different types of ac units. Our LG models sit flatter on the mount, while our Fridgadaire and Midea have a thin bar underneath that makes a half inch gap/opening to the outside when sitting on the mount. Be prepared to use that gray long window foam to stuff in the gaps and tape it with masking tape. That's my technique to keep the hot air and bugs out. Not a big deal at all. I use masking tape because it doesnt leave a lot of residue behind and stays in place most of the summer. Its also a tan/off-white color that is less noticeable than say green painters tape (gentle on paint, but an eye sore). Don't use white duct tape! Removal sucks and leaves so much sticky residue. Anywho, with our safety and fragile backs in mind, this mount was worth getting. The metal pegs are a bit cheap and pop into the frame now and again where its annoying to readjust them... but once you get the hand of it, it's not so bad. With 4 mounts now, I only had this happen twice. In place, they are totally strong enough for their purpose. We have 2 100 pound ac units that are way easier to I stall now. Our other ac units are around 55 to 80 pounds each. Thanks for this!

Very strong and WILL support ANY SIZE A/C unit!!
This support bracket is not only very easy to install but because of the quality of construction, it truly does support my new window A/C unit without even coming close to "straining"!! I have absolutely NO DOUBT that it WOULD SUPPORT AN A/C UNIT 3+ THE WEIGHT OF MINE!! if you're looking for a support bracket that couldn't possibly be easier to install and IS STRONG!! THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY!! I can promise that you WILL NOT REGRET BUYING THIS A/C SUPPORT BRACKET!! Even if you have the old style "L" shaped bracelet that screws into the side of your place ONLY. You'll have a LOT MORE PEACE OF MIND BY REPLACING YOUR OLD "L" STYLE BRACE WITH THIS ONE!! The reader can easily see by looking at the photos. That it WILL ADJUST TO ANY SIZE A/C UNIT!!

Works, but
Window bracket is sturdy and works well. However, it will leave pretty large gaps (1-2 inches) between the ac unit and the window. Make sure you have plenty of foam to insulate it.

Sturdy good design
Okay so Iโll start off by saying this is the exact product as described, which I appreciate because other sellers donโt include hardware. Just a word of advice, you may have to do some basic modifications to fit your style window, but in the end they provide measurements and if you need longer screws itโs like $6 at Home Depot. I got it for my 12,000 BTU air con and it fits perfectly, (I actually bought two and used them both) and it seems very sturdy. Putting it together wasnโt bad at all but I didnโt use the instructions you can kind of just tell how to put it together based off its shape. Would definitely buy again.

The easiest, perfectly engineered window Air-conditioning support bracket on the market.
The best, easiest to use and install air conditioner bracket on the market. No drilling. Fits perfectly into Australian standard aluminum window rails or any window with a solid lip internally. Adjustable for most situations. Don't scrimp on a cheaper, difficult to use bracket. Spend the money on this and you'll never look back.
