Think Fun Laser Maze (Class 1) Brain Game and STEM Toy for Boys and Girls Age 8 and Up – Award Winning and Mind Challenging Game for Kids (44001014)

Just picked this up as a birthday gift for an 11-year-old, though I bought it for my own son a couple of years ago when he was 8. My son goes to a STEM school and loves the engineering he's learned, so we've had a great time with this game, figuring out how to position the pieces to light up the right pieces. The game contains triangular pieces with mirrors on one side and reflectors on another side, another piece that splits the laser into two beams, and of course a piece that produces the laser beam. (There are a couple of other pieces too). You draw a card, which tells you the exact placement of certain pieces, and how many reflectors need to light up, and you have to figure out how to make it happen. As far as I can tell, there is only one solution for each puzzle, and the back side of the card reveals it. There are 60 cards in all, 15 at each difficulty level. The beginning cards are enough to challenge an 8-10 year old who has never played this game, and the medium, advanced, and expert step it up from there. The quality of the board and pieces seems very good, and the cards are thick and strong. As a parent, it's pretty fantastic to see your kid work hard at one of the challenging puzzles and figure it out himself. I highly recommend this game.

The game is great was useable right out of the box. The game makes you think and the kids liked it. The only complaint is that they needed better instructions. The picture cards are good but it took a few cards to be able to explain to the kids how to play. The goal and set up wasn't always clear. That said once I explained the play the kids enjoyed it.

It is a single player brain teaser puzzle like game. Bought as gift for 7 year old nephew, he really wanted it. His 10 year old brother who is very spatial found the beginner puzzles easy (I don't know if he when farther then that). The 7 year old (not as spatially gifted) needed some assistance & coaching but loved it. (Toy is 8+ but he wanted it.) Coaching was asked him a lot of questions on what he thought would happen or where he thought the piece should go, breaking down the puzzle into parts so he could figure it out. Helping him troubleshoot when the laser didn't go where he thought it should. FYI: You can put the box and your hand around the board to show where the laser is going, to help them adjust the pieces to go where it should. Another FYI: For the less spatially gifted adults the answers are on the back of the card. As an adult who enjoys brain teaser puzzle games it was fun to coach him and play with it until he had to leave.

My 8 year old son loves it & I've caught my 18 year old son playing it as well! Lazer Maze is a great for multiple reasons. It was easy to open & start using. It comes with a lazer and several other pieces that interact with the lazer to redirect it in different ways. But, best of all, it comes with a deck of cards that starts off easy and becomes more challenging as you learn how the pieces work. It is hands-on, minds-on fun that squeezes in learning without you noticing! The main skills it teaches is how different objects interact with light, problem-solving, and perseverance! I purchased my son the Amazon STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & math) subscription and this was the first month's item. (Definitely worth the money in quality of the items & educationally.) I also plan to use it in my 5th grade classroom!

There was an earlier version of this game that was amazing! This seems to be a new version and the laser is not as visible/the beacons don't light up as well. It's a great concept and my kids got so much fun out of the first one. This one, not so much.

We received this item in the Stem club we joined and I have to say I was very skeptical at first as our Grandson (8 yrs) is in the GT class and we have trouble with him finding school boring and we were very keen to try this program and see if it is worthwhile. The Think Fun Laser Maze (Class 1) Logic Game and STEM Toy was the first item we received. I have to say we are impressed, he has enjoyed this game everyday since receiving it and keeps it in the car to play. It is stimulating, and it keeps him intrigued............Update 11/18/2019. I asked our Grandson if he is still playing his game, he said no, he had gone through it in two days but we will keep it and haul it out periodically for him to enjoy.

関西万博に行った際、欧州連合にて体験させていただき、息子がはまってしまい、次行ったときにはまた別の展示に変わっていたため、大変残念がっていました。 メーカーは日本でも発売しているところでしたが、こちらの商品に限っては現状日本になく、困っていたところ、こちらで見つけて購入いたしました。 1度していたこともあり、英語の説明しかなかったものの考えながら遊んでいました。 物理的な思考が身に付くゲームだと思います。

Enjoyable and challenging enough for 9 year old

Really fun, engaging toy! It’s more of a thinking toy, so for kids that enjoy more intellectually stimulating games, it’s amazing!
