Golden Egg Maker Manual Puller & Scrambler for Golden Eggs, Portable Silicone Yolk Mixer with Drawstring

Works perfectly. It only retracts if there is an egg in it. If you try and test it empty, it will not work. I need to pull it 20 times in rapid succession to get the egg scrambled inside.

Instructions are only in Chinese. The pull string would work sometimes and automatically return to the main body. but it never all the time and I frequently have to wind the pull string back to the main body by hand. I tried the 3 eggs at ten different pulls each time. but I never got it to work successfully for any of the eggs. After boiling them I discovered that they did not scramble the egg inside the shell. Do the device never worked enough to produce the Golden egg it was designed and advertised to do. I don’t know if that is my fault or the devices fault. Why? Because if the Chinese instructions say that you have to pull the string at least 20 times to produce a “golden egg”. Then that failure would be my fault because I only pulled it ten times. I rated this product with 1 star because that was the only option. I could not rate it Zero Stars. Even if this device works and makes a golden egg after 20 pulls it’s still not worth the effort of manually have to rewind the pull string.

I was intrigued by the prospect of golden eggs, so I purchased this golden egg spinner. When I opened the package I was first impressed by the colors. The instructions provided were not in English, but the product seemed intuitive enough. You put the egg in the holder, close things up, and then pull the string to make it spin. Without instructions I pulled the string at least 100 times because I wanted to make sure the egg was all mixed up inside. Then I went online and looked for instructions in English and it said to pull the string 20-30 times, so I did it 50 for good measure with 10 more eggs. This whole process took 45-60 minutes since you can only spin one egg at a time. I cooked all of the eggs in a Cuisinart egg central egg cooker and 2 of the eggs exploded, and the rest of them spit eggscrement out the top of the egg. The ones that exploded were definitely golden throughout. After cooling in an ice bath for a bit it was time to crack open the eggs to see what was inside. It was eggs, golden eggs. They had the color of scrambled eggs with the consistency of a hard boiled egg. They were weird. What I learned was that making a dozen golden eggs was more work than it was worth. The egg spinner makes golden eggs, but golden eggs are weird. Also, you can't use extra large or jumbo sized eggs because they won't fit inside.

Ok, first off, I am absolutely mystified by the bad reviews, this thing is incredibly easy to use and I never even glanced at the instructions, how people are incapable of figuring out how something with such a basic principal behind it works is really not helping my faith in humanity. You put an egg in it, you pull the string, once the string gets to the end you let the still spinning egg pull the string back in, then you TUG the string again and repeat, quickly... People, its not the spinning that scrambles the egg, its the sudden change in direction, its not the fall the kills you, its the sudden stop at the end. There isn't a 'retraction' mechanism like a ratchet or spring and there isn't meant to be one, you pull it, it spins fast, it keeps spinning past the point of the string's length and starts to wind the string again from its momentum in the opposite direction, you pull it again, it suddenly stops the rotation and starts it in the opposite direction VERY quickly. This thing uses principals common to /children's toys/ from before the 1950's, its not hard... it does have a rhythm to it though! I tried it, it worked great, takes like... 30-40 seconds per egg at most maybe? Mine came out completely mixed with about 30 seconds of quick rhythm but here's the BIG problem with making these that I kinda knew I'd run into: These things are practically impossible to cleanly peel, you break the membrane when doing this and the shell adheres to the now mixed insides of the egg like its affixed with super glue, when you do this you might want to have an ice, water and salt bath already cold as can be to put the eggs in straight out of the steam/water/instapot/whateveryouuse to give you even the slightest fighting chance at having the shell release when you go to peel them. The taste? Its different, its ok, its kinda good. Worth it? Its like less than $15, its a cute novelty, it does make this process easier though its debatable if the results are worth any method of procuring them to be honest :P Will I use it again? Sure, it does what it says really easily and if I'm in the mood for this kinda thing and the frustration in peeling it comes with, you bet I'll give it a whirl :P

This thing looks like a toddler's toy, and my first attempt to use it did not scramble the egg. I decided that it was sturdier than it looks and gave the cord a more firm pull. It works by rapidly spinning the egg and then abruptly spinning it in the opposite direction. I think that sudden change is what does the scrambling. Anyway, I gave the cord a good tug, let the spinning egg holder draw the cord back in, then tugged it again, spinning it in the other direction after that sudden change of direction. I repeated this for fully a minute of more (not sure how many "tugs") and when I cracked the egg the contents looked like well mixed orange juice - totally scrambled! I sometimes use a microwave egg cooker that can take an egg and cook it into a fried egg disc, similar to the famous Egg Macmuffin. My wife prefers a scrambled egg, so with this egg scrambling gizmo, I can scramble a single egg to cook for her and just make a fried egg or two separately for me. Everyone is happy! And what's not to like about a funny-looking thing like this made by a company called "Nobgum"?

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE PIECE OF JUNK!!! FIRST TIME I WENT TO USE IT AND IT WAS BROKEN. STRING DOESN'T RETURN BACK. JUST HANGS THERE. BUYER BEWARE!! IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO GIVE IT ANY STARS I WOULDN'T HAVE , BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE TO POST THE REVIEW.

I will preface this by saying I thought I broke it on the first string pull also, but you need to pull with a good amount of force so that it retracts back on its own—think spinning top toy or a yo-yo. I count about 20 to 30 pulls per egg. If at some point you don’t pull with enough force for it to retract, you simply turn the egg to rewind it. My kids love boiled eggs but don’t like the yolk, this is the most perfect solution. No more wasted yolks & they get all the health benefits of a whole egg! I wish I bit the bullet & bought sooner instead of hesitating due to the bad reviews.
