Small and easy to use
I always thought cooking rice in a pan was easy, so why waste money on a rice cooker. Boy was I wrong! The rice comes out perfect every time, just set the type of rice and the machine does the rest. The keep warm function doesn't dry it out either. The instructions are very easy to follow and it's very easy to clean. If you have never used a rice cooker before do make sure you use the measuring cup that comes with it, as the cup size is different to standard UK/US measurements. So overall I'm extremely happy with this little appliance. Well worth the money.

Revolutionary Rice Cooking from the Perfect Panda
As a single person, I had debated as to whether I needed an electric rice cooker, as I have a Sistema microwave cooker that does the job relatively well. I had seen numerous rice cooker recipes that looked divine, and I spent a year debating whether I could justify purchasing one. I had looked at reviews and saw some of the very high prices many rice cookers commanded, and I would have loved to buy the Sakura, but this Yum Asia Panda rice cooker consistently ranked highly in testing. When it came up on special recently, I decided to bite the bullet and buy it. I was surprised by just how small the Yum Asia Panda is, i.e. a bit smaller than my slow cooker. It came with a measuring cup, a scoop spoon with a slot on the side to hold it, a rice bowl, and steamer insert. The rice bowl itself has the measurements marked on it for various types of rice, making it super easy to add the right amount of liquid per amount of rice. Once washed and assembled, I tried my first batch of Jasmine rice. I rinsed the rice four (4) times in cold water; my current brand being surprisingly starchy it seems. I turned on the cooker, selected white rice using the menu function, and it started, silently! Surprisingly, the cooker said it would take 40 minutes, which is much longer than my microwave cooker, which takes between 8 & 12 minutes. I could see steam rising from the designated outlet at the back, as it was supposed to. At the end of the cooking cycle, the warming function immediately kicked in. Upon opening the lid of my Panda, I found my rice cooked to absolute perfection, and it was easily broken up and served using the provided scoop. There was only a little bit of sticky starch to clean from the bowl after use, but no other mess whatsoever around the cooker or counter. The next time I cooked rice, I used the steamer basket for vegetables. Again, the result was perfection. Removing the steamer basket was a little difficult without getting burned, but I've learned to employ tongs to do so safely. I've since tried some of those rice cooker recipes and they've turned out just as expected - divine. Yes, it does take 40 minutes to cook rice; however, I've now learned to put the rice on, then start prepping and cooking the rest of my meal, and by the time that's done, my rice is cooked. I've also tried brown and basmati rice, and this little Panda has provided perfect results every time. Even pasta dishes can be cooked using my Panda. I've given away my Sistema microwave rice cooker. I love that selecting the various functions is intuitive, and the buttons are easy to press. The rice cooker and accessories are easily cleaned without a dishwasher. Admittedly, the little moisture collection basket is a little tricky to clean, but I have some straw brushes that do the job nicely. The internal lid is easily removable for cleaning, and clips back on without any fuss. Now I know why the Yum Asia Panda rice cooker gets such high praise in reviews. It is so worth the money!

Life changing rice cooker
Bought this to replace our very old spring loaded rice cooker, on the recommendation of someone on instagram who uses one a lot (not an ad, a genuine recommendation). I might be being hyperbolic but this rice cooker has changed my life 😂 Absolutely obsessed with it. The rice comes out perfect every time, its easy to use, easy to clean, and the ability to just ‘set and go’ is great. It definitely takes longer than a pan, but it keeps it warm so you could steam it in advance if needed, or set the timer (which I haven't tried yet). If you're considering buying one, Id highly recommend. Perfect for 2 people but could easily do a family of 4 (I usually do enough for leftovers/meal prep with 2 cups) if you also wanted to co-steam in the basket though, you’d only really be able to do enough rice for a single meal. Jesus what a diatribe about a rice cooker - totally worth it, would recommend to anyone who eats rice frequently.

Rice perfection
This is a fantastic rice cooker. Stylish, effective and easy to use, it ticks all the boxes for me. The sleek white minimalistic design and shape makes it look very futuristic and blends well in any kitchen. It's very lightweight and the size of it makes it surprisingly easy to store away after use. Compared to my last rice cooker, this is around 2/3rd the size and weight, which makes it much more convenient. It does however, still feel very durable and of excellent quality with a sturdy shell and inner basket. It's very easy to use. The manual is quite extensive for multiple different options, but the basic use of it is very simple. It comes with a small cup to put your rice in and the inside of the cooker shows the water level needed for the amount of rice, which makes it very easy to get the right quantity. There's a steam filter which you can also use to steam vegetables. It's easy to use with the panel, select the option you want and start it up, very simple and quick. The display shows when it is cooking and then when it has 10 minutes left, and beeps when it's done. You can easily leave this without supervision, which is one of my favourite features of a rice cooker, and there's not been any mess at all when using it and leaving it. The quality of the rice is excellent, really lovely and fluffy, especially if you wash it well beforehand. It takes around 30-40 minutes for a couple of portions, which is good for the quality cook you get with this. It's got lots of different options for different types of rice, which makes this very versatile, and the vegetable steaming also works great. Everything smells good and the steam clears away nicely by running it underneath the ventilation. I've found it's nice and easy to clean out with the non-stick basket inside, mainly with a rinse out first then in the dishwasher gets it spotless. This is very pricey compared to more basic rice cookers I've seen, but it's definitely worth it if you can afford it and you eat rice regularly. The quality is far superior to other cookers I've used and the design is much sleeker and more convenient for storage. A first rate item. Highly recommended.

Reliable and Easy-to-Use Rice Cooker with Effortless Cleanup
This makes cooking rice so easy to do. This rice cooker consistently delivers perfectly cooked rice, taking all the guesswork out of the process compared to traditional stovetop methods. It is also relatively cheap, so I don’t understand the point of spending a lot more money on one when the result will only be fractionally better. The interface is straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy to operate right out of the box. While the instruction manual could be clearer when it comes to measuring water and rice ratios, a quick online search easily resolves any confusion. Cleanup is also very easy with detachable parts that make disassembly simple, and the non-stick inner pot prevents any rice from sticking, making washing up quick and effortless.

I regret not buying this sooner
Oh boy, where do I begin. Let's start with the product 1. Easy to use? Absolutely, literally plug it in, put rice and water, press a button to select the type of cooking, start, forget about it, it will let you know when it's finished and then go to keep rice warm automatically 2. Size? Quite small, I'd compare it to my 4 bay toaster, it can fit in most spaces but if you don't use it daily like me, you can easily just store it somewhere. 3. Can it cook rice? Oh yes it can, and soup too apparently but I haven't tested that yet. The only "issue" I have is trying to get the measurements right, or maybe I need to buy a different brand of rice, because it always ends up a bit "sticky". Not horribly so, the rice still tastes absolutely great, but sometimes I want fluffy rice that doesn't clump unless you press it, but I don't think that's the machine's fault. 4. Is it fast? Oh yes! It depends on the type and quantity of rice you're making but 1 cup of rice it's usually 15-20 mins, perfect to start working on the rest of your stir-fry. 5. Does it taste good? I literally can't tell the difference between this or restaurant made. I mean, sure, they can make the whole dish better than I can at home, but just the rice itself? As good as any I've ever had at any restaurant worth its salt. Now, the personal stuff. Really, I regret not buying one sooner, like... I've been wasting my life having to try and cook rice in a pot and almost ALWAYS do something wrong about it. Either some got stuck to the bottom, either too wet, not enough fluff, temperature was too high/low, the list goes on. Seriously, if you do rice even 2 times a week, this is worth it! Now for a "warning" bit. Nothing wrong just a word of advice, as all that steam needs to escape somewhere, and it does, through a little vent on the top of the device, so don't put it underneath other stuff, especially cupboards or such in the kitchen. Let that steam just rise all the way up. However, you can use this as a great opportunity to clean the bottom of those suspended wall-mounted cupboards, by letting the steam melt down all the grease and dirt that went on over the years, so maybe it's a good thing?

Small but mighty — my go-to for perfect rice every time
I’ve been using the Panda Mini for about 2 months now, and it’s become one of my favourite kitchen gadgets. It might look cute, but it packs serious functionality. What I really like: Fluffy, consistent rice — No matter whether I’m cooking jasmine, basmati, or short grain, the fuzzy logic handles it beautifully. I rarely get undercooked or mushy rice. Easy to use — “Set and forget” is exactly what it feels like. Just add the rice and water, choose the setting, and it gets to work. Great fit for small households — With its 3.5-cup (uncooked) capacity, it’s ideal for 1–3 people. I don’t have to worry about large, unused portions. Keeps rice warm well — Even if dinner’s delayed, the “keep warm” function holds rice without drying it out. (This lines up with what others have observed too.) Easy cleanup — The Ninja ceramic inner bowl is nonstick and makes washing really simple. Nice extra functions — I often use the steam, porridge, or slow cook modes when I want more than just rice. What could be better / things I noticed: Cook times are not always fast — On “normal” mode it takes a while, so you need to plan ahead. (That said, there is a quicker mode, but results differ slightly.) Steam basket is shallow — When I try to steam a load of veggies, it’s not as roomy as I’d like. Others have mentioned the same limitation. Footprint in storage — It’s compact, but still has a bit of height, so I end up keeping it out on the counter. My verdict: For anyone cooking for one to three people (or just wanting perfect rice without fuss), this is a solid pick. It balances performance, convenience, and build quality well. It’s not flawless, especially if you push it with large steam loads or want blazing speeds, but for everyday use it delivers.

Yum Asia Panda Mini Rice Cooker
I will start by saying that this is small. But mighty. It cooks the rice to perfection and fluffy. We have always wanted on of these rice cookers but was always bias about trying them. My wife and I eat a lot of rice and this was the perfect choice for us as there is only two of us. We only use one cup of rice at a time as that is plenty for us two. It is so easy to follow the instructions as the manual that comes with it is very informative and before you know it with just a few button presses you will be cooking rice in no time at all. I just love everything about this Yum Panda rice cooker. The clean up is great the top steem housing, Inner lid plate, Bowl and drip cap at the rear all can be removed for easy cleaning. It comes with a detachable power cord and that I like as it can be tucked away in my kitchen draw with the supplied utensils. Once I have cleaned it up up I leave the measuring jug supplied inside the unit just for the next time. The display is bright and clear and easy to read and follow. The Panda cooker tooks away in the corner of my worktop as it has a small footprint. There is a steaming basket that comes with it to but I have not used it yet. All in all This was one of our best buy's of the year.
