Dorman 696-020 Engine Air Intake Hose Compatible with Select Honda Models

I'm not saying anything new here, based on previous reviews, but an easy improvement over OEM. I was getting a periodic check engine light on my 2013 Odyssey with OBD codes p0171 p0174. Googling said the air intake hose was likely torn. Sure enough, it was, in two spots. Watched a YouTube video and ordered this. Getting the OEM one off was kind of difficult, even though it's more flexible than this one. So I was a little worried this one might be tricky to get on. Nope. Super easy. Fits perfect. Very sturdy, I'll be shocked if this fails for the rest of the life of the car. Only thing that's slightly concerning is the spring clamp onto the air filter case. I don't see how that spring can hold the hose in place that well. But I also don't see how the hose would come off without human help, so I'm not worried about it. I am a terrible, impatient DIYer, and I managed to swap this out pretty easily. Who know how much I saved from the mechanic.

Issues: RPM would fluctuate at red lights while idling on Drive (sometimes on Neutral). Car would stall randomly, especially in hot weather and even more with the AC on. As soon as I replaced my old intake hose that had a huge hole in it the car would not start. Second attempt was smooth. Car felt wayyyy better and smoother and the RPMs are stable; I don't remember the last time the RPM needle was so smooth. It's not a tough install but make sure you have a bit of lubricant. I tested everything in the car to try to figure out the problem. This is better quality than the original one. My car is running at around 130k miles hopefully this will take it twice as far with less frustration. Next step is to install a VCM by passer. Please do some research on this as the V6 Honda engines be with VCM have issues and said to cause the intake hose to prematurely break as well as other issues. Long review but I want to help people solve this issue and not waste time and money on fixing/replacing other parts year are not the main culprit. Good luck.

Perfect fit for a 2011 Honda Odyssey. This part seemed heavier duty and better built than the oem Honda part. As a matter of fact they solved part of the problem that likely causes the OEM part to fail by changing the way the hose attaches to the air cleaner. In order to check the air filter the upper lid must be pulled away from the engine. This stretches the rubber if you don’t loosen the factory hose clamp. This replacement Dorman part uses a spring to seal the hose to the box, allowing it to pop off the air cleaner lid when servicing the filter. No more tearing the air intake boot! Excellent product.

This is an exact fit for a 2014 Honda Odyssey. It’s substantial and not a flimsy or cheap product. There is a hook for the sensor cable and is actually better than the original. It took me longer to get the old one off then to put the new one on.thats the good. The bad isn’t bad, but notable. The radiator clamp on the 1 side failed immediately. If the original is usable, put it back on. The other side has some sort of spring to lock it to the air filter. I see this failing rather soon. Neither is that big a deal. Overall this is a good alternative at 1/3 rd the price.

Fit almost the same as the original. Tough and not as cheap feeling as the original. First month still perfect. Would recommend.

Great price, saved about 10 bucks vs auto zone. Appears to be good quality. Install takes some finessing, take your time to get it snug. My old part ripped and caused my check engine light to come on and van would idle rough and stall out. $17 and some elbow grease, all fixed!

This is an excellent part with quality superior to Honda intake hose it replaces. Installed in 2006 Odyssey in place of the OEM part that split while replacing air filter. Replacement takes under 10 minutes. Material used in construction of this part is thicker, yet more elastic and appears durable. Small tab on one end aligns the part perfectly with intake manifold, and notch on the other end lines up with a tab on filter housing. Part comes with jubilee clip and garter spring and is ready to install right out of the box. No need to re-use old hardware, or buy new. And all this for such a reasonable price.

This arrived quickly is just like it was pictured. My only issue is that Amazon specified it would fit my 2013 Odyssey and it did except that the large clamp on the right side. This part has a ridge in the way that makes the existing clamp too small to fit. Other than that all the openings fit and lined up properly.
