Great little modules โ work perfectly and super easy to use!
Iโm really impressed with these Bluetooth 5.0 receiver boards. They power up quickly, pair instantly, and the audio quality is surprisingly clean for something this compact. The modules are consistent across all five pieces, and every one I tested worked exactly as expected. Theyโre perfect for small DIY speaker projects, upgrading older equipment, or experimenting with custom setups. The sound output is clear, stable, and has no annoying background noise or dropouts. For the price, the value is excellent โ you get multiple boards that are reliable, simple to wire, and fun to work with. If you enjoy tinkering or want to add Bluetooth capability to your gear, these are absolutely worth picking up. Iโd buy them again without hesitation. Power is really good and as for durability, I guess only time will tell.

Small, cheap and super useful
I love these boards, I've used them for years for small bluetooth headphone stations around my home and office. They are reliable, last indefinitely, and are extremely cheap. I opted to stick with the older micro-USB variant, since I have micro-USB cables with inline on-off switches I like using. I have 3D printed cases that these boards fit in perfectly. My son used to build cases for me for these out of Lego bricks that worked great. I've since switched the 3D printed ones, but I still use a lego board on the bottom to stick these to the under-furniture mounts we've always used. I like these to watch TV late at night via earphones without disturbing anyone- I can switch any of A/V systems to output to bluetooth and just plug headphones into extensions leading to one of these receiver boards. I like that these are BT 5.0 (older ones I'm replacing were BT 4.1) and best of all, these have no beeps or annoying voice announcements when connected. (My older ones made a beep sound on connection). The sound quality using bluetooth source and headphones with the 3.5 jack is great for music and media audio. I've never had delay between picture/audio from sources like Fire TV, Roku, Google TV devices, smartphone or PC. The range of these is so good I never get dropouts, but the range does lead to the only minor downside of these boards. They all show up on bluetooth device lists as VHM-314. I have several through the house and on first setup, it can be a guessing game which VHM-314 is which on a list of available BT devices. I wish the bluetooth label were easily user-writable, so that you could change the name of each to something unique. (I know this is possible with specialized tools and applications that can re-write the devices EPROM, but that's a bit over my head). At this price, for 5 of these boards you can't go wrong!

Worked right out of the box, no noises.
USB micro version: So far so good. Connected and installed perfectly first time. Sounds good enough. NO BEEPS, BOOPS, or connection glitches or sounds. Volume control works through the device well. Nice and small and will fit in project. Great price and value, so I bought 10. I am using the USB micro. The USB C probably will work the same, but you might have to use a PD workaround. USB-C is โsmartโ it should work at 5v, but look into USB-C trigger modules or similar. Or try a USB-A to C cable.

Work great, tiny solder pads but can use phono jack instead
I've installed one in an old Pioneer SX-727 receiver. I works great. I will say that the solder pads for the stereo output are tiny. I ruined the pads on my first attempt but the phono jack still works. The power connection has through holes that are much easier to solder to. I will probably just use phono jacks for the rest of them. On my second solder attempt I soldered the L & R to the solder pads but soldered the ground to the top of the usb power connector. That was easier but still a challange. There is no voice announcement on the ones I bought. I like them.

Great for DIY Bluetooth Headphones
Works great, just wish the Bluetooth ID could be changed as I can't use two in the same vicinity because I can identify which speaker is which. I used it to convert regular headphones into Bluetooth ones with a lipo battery and charging circuit, works well

On batteries... The audio will crackle when the battery gets low
So the audio on my Bluetooth player was crackling. I'm like ,darn... The board is junk or something... Them I'm like, wait, I've been on the same batteries for over a few weeks!!! Changed the batteries and bam ! Sounds fantastic โค๏ธ. I needed to remember that batteries don't last forever in this thing, it just feels like they do ๐.. great sound quality. Pairs to my phone very quickly. I ordered 10 more for other projects and gifts.

An Essential Audio Accessory That You Hide Behind The Stereo Cabinet And Forget About
This is what I needed, something that I can simply connect behind the stereo system and plug the audio connector in the back of the stereo receiver, and just simply pair the module to anything that sends out a Bluetooth audio signal. No pressing any pairing buttons like the old devices. You simply just get one of those 1/8'' stereo to RCA stereo patch cords or one of those 1/8'' stereo to 1/8'' stereo patch cords and plug in one of those 5 volt 1amp or less cell phone chargers into a USB connector to a Micro USB connector and then you're in business, and then just hide the little module where it cannot be seen anywhere behind the stereo system. It really does help save money into having to buy another stereo receiver that has a bluetooth receiver. This is good for anyone who wants to renovate their old stereo system and keep the wires out of sight. I am going to order more of these for other systems that don't have bluetooth and also maybe give one to my friends and family members.

Sounds great!
I used this to make a bluetooth module to connect to my older sound system. Very happy with the result, the sound is excellent and it is easy to connect to the bluetooth (no password or login needed). This could be a disadvantage depending on how you want to use it, as anyone can connect to it, but using in my own home it is fine. Range is at least 10 meters (the furthest I can get in my house). I plan to use other modules to add bluetooth to other older sound systems that I have, the small size makes it easy to install inside any older audio equipment. For those interested, the pictured assembly has the bluetooth module plus a 5V buck converter (7V to 28V input, 5V output). I use a DC wall adapter to power it, and I can use almost any power adapter because of the wide input voltage range of the buck converter. I connected audio cables to the audio outputs, these connect to the inputs on the back of my sound system. The package is from a broken wall adapter (I had to use a non-metallic package so the bluetooth signal could get through).

Good Experimenter's Board
The audio lets out a pile of trash when power is disconnected making this board require a 'Delay On - Fast Off' relay circuit. The two mounting holes will accept no larger than 2mm ( you could glue it into place?). The LED blinks fast without device connected and then blinks slowly after making Bluetooth connection, which may be annoying because it does not stop flashing. At this price point, it is an experimenter board, it is not ready 'as is' for full audio implementation. It is easy to modify and add JST connectors if you can solder. The sound is pretty good stereo for a 'single chip' integrated solution. I will cut the antenna PCB trace and add an external SMA antenna and build a small RF/Faraday cage around this board in an effort to reduce noise.

Used one of these to add Bluetooth connectivity to an old Sony radio (hijacking the aux input) Worked well! Now I have 4 more for something else.
