Iem was delivered in a plastic baf in a generic carbopard box, and did not contain the fittings to connect the seat to the toilet.

The seat doesn't quite fit, as in it's not quite as long as the base. But besides the slight struggle to install, it's handled the burden of weight well without any sign of breaking so far. If you're notably overweight, this is a good investment.

This is a Revised Review. The toilet seat company contacted me after they read my bad review and blamed me for not installing the toilet seat properly. There is only one way to install any toilet seat, and that is in the two holes in the toilet where the seat screws HAVE to go into. I am appalled that any company would blame the buyer for their product not doin what its is advertised to do. I have installed many toilet seats in my lifetime and NEVER had a toilet seat not fit the toilet properly. Unbelieveable. Absolutely NOT worth the money. First and foremost, I have a round toilet and I bought a round seat. It does not fit the toilet bowl well at all. There are four rubber bumpers on the underside of the seat. These bumpers are supposed to sit on the toilet bowl to keep the seat raised up off the bowl and provide support for the toilet seat. The back two bumpers sit on the bowl, the front two bumpers do not. So, the front of toilet seat sits directly on the toilet bowl and the back of the toilet seat sits on the bumpers. I have no doubt that this is going to quickly cause the seat to crack and break. This toilet seat costs $54. I expect it to fit. I would return the toilet seat bet there is no convenient place to return it where I live. So, I ordered several different sizes of self-adhesive toilet seat bumpers. Hopefully something will fit and I can place them on the seat so they rest on the toilet bowel like they are supposed to. Second, the rubber washer that fits on the screw HAS to go specifically one way and that is not explained anywhere in the directions. I had to search extensively on the internet to find a video that explained the correct rubber washer position. What should have taken 15 minutes to install took well over an hour and ONLY because I was able to find the video. Again, for the price I expected a lot more. I would NOT recommend this toilet seat. It’s German made, which might explain things. Next time I will buy American made.

Installed this last night and I'll say it seems sturdy enough. It is a soft close seat and cover, yes, super soft close. I've watched snails move faster than the slow close of this. Who cares, but if that matters to you just be aware it's super slow. I always put the seat up, and back down, having been married for 30 years, I am trained to do that. Just seems like I didn't put it down or whatever as it starts its very slow decline to closed. One thing I wish is that the seat fit the Kohler toilet that I have, which is a bigger opening than is provided. There is wasted space on this seat that would allow for a slightly larger opening for a larger person. It doesn't take advantage of the opening size of the toilet. Guess it's a standard size or something. Instal was only slowed by trying to understand the instruction sheet, the pictures and the words were provided but the way it went together was not your typical toilet seat style. And the little cover clips at the end of the mounting base, I can't get them to fit, they just won't stay put in there. Again, who cares, don't think they even matter. But an unnecessary step and pieces to lose or break. SO, does it work. Sure. Is it over engineered? Probably. Will it hold up? Time will tell, but I'm sure it's decent quality to last.
