Great affordable alternative
A fantastic affordable alternative for a cat with ckd. Prescription cat food is extremely expensive (5x reg price) so if you can’t afford that, this low phosphorus cat food is a saving grace. And my cat loves it, eats it right up!

the best.
All of my cats love this. Also my two dogs sometimes Gert into it. My 15 year old Tortie has a prescription for Renal care and after a lot of research I settled on this because it's so safe for everyone. The ingredients are top notch and where it is made. I grew up on a farm so I really appreciate that it is farm made. The textures are well thought out. Nice job on this and also the Dog food for sensitive bellies

Prescription food without a prescription
I wish this had been packed better in the box because several cans were dented. They just put it in the shipping box with no cushioning. Amazon was nice enough to offer a partial refund because of this. The biggest selling points for this food are: - No prescription needed. - 12 cans instead of 24. - Variety of flavors and textures. We all know that cats can be picky eaters. More so when they are older and have kidney issues. This food helps to address that by having a variety of flavors and only 12 cans. Nothing worse than buying 24 cans of prescription food only to have your cat not eat it. Cost works out to be a little cheaper too. My senior kitty has been gobbling this up. She doesn't seem to have a preference for any particular flavor or texture yet which makes me hopeful she will continue to eat this. The only downside is that the cans are slightly larger so none of my can covers fit them. I don't like silicone but bought a new cover despite that. It stuck out so far from the edge of the can I worry it will get knocked over in the fridge. And the seal wasn't great either. For that reason I took off a star.

Cat loves it!
My 20 yr old cat recently got diagnosed with kidney disease and he is a foodie but picky. 1. Liked the hills k/d for a week, then decided he didn’t. 2. Liked purina NF pate for a week, then he didn’t. 3. Loved royal canin gravy, then he became picky with it… so I bought this to top it on top of his royal canin (so i wouldn’t waste food) and surprisingly he loves it. I like how its a variety of different flavors because my poor boy was just stuck on one Royal Canin flavor. I’m gonna try to finish all the RC cans and switch him to these :)

Cat loves it
Finally a food my cat will eat. She had stage 2 kidney disease and vet prescribed Hills. She would eat the Hills dry kidney food but won't eat the Hills can food. This food from weruva is a blessing. She loves it.

My cat won’t touch it
My cat won’t touch it. Not any of the flavors. It’s expensive so it’s frustrating.

It's...interesting
I'm sure like many other reviewers I came across this food while looking at options for my CKD kitty. She was recently diagnosed and was used to getting a pretty wide array of wet foods so I didn't want her to be limited to just prescription varieties. Since she's pretty early stage the main concern was controlling phosphorus levels and not necessarily protein so this seemed perfect, and I'm a big fan of Weruva as a brand. Her opinion: she would only eat the shredded varieties, not the pates (there are 2 flavors of each of the textures). My opinion: this stuff is eerily pale, which I'm sure my cat cares nothing about but it certainly didn't look appetizing to me. Also the pate has a weirdly gelatinous texture and is also slightly mealy, which I suspect my cat very much cared about as she's super picky about textures. If you can manage to find these as single cans at a local shop I'd certainly recommend that before purchasing a case, but I couldn't so if that's the case for you as well I'd just purchase them with the knowledge your cat may not like them...which is a concept I'm sure as pet owners you're probably well used to.
