Aqara Smart Curtain Motor E1, Home Automation, Track Version

It's not cheap but they are strong and have really good battery so last a good couple of months. I have a long USB c cable and big battery to charge them every 3 months.

Bought to automate my curtains on a curved track mounted to the ceiling of a bay window.You will need one for each curtain to be open or closed.The zigbee units were pared easily to home assistant and the motor operated with a few seconds of delay when opening or closing.The units are designed for use with several different types of curtain tracks and come with mounting equipment that can be adjusted to grip the pole or track.Unfortunately the units don't work well on curved tracks with heavy curtains, becoming stuck or losing traction leaving the curtains half open.I tried serval solutions such as adding grippy tape to the tracks to help the unit but nothing worked.The motors are quite noisy even in the slow quiet mode, the loud rubbing on my curved track made it unusable. Overall the unit is well made with a usb plug to charge the battery but I didn't have them long enough to test the longevity.I've had good success with Aqara smart home equipment and these may work well with straight tracks or light curtains but they are too expensive with too many compromises.

I have set it up a month ago, without any reason one of them stopped working suddenly. I tried restarting it or repairing it, but nothing helped. It seems like it got broken from the inside or something is wrong with is. Not to say that this device is not good but mine could have some issues. The other one is working very well so far.

Installed them for a family smart home security project and the weight they can shift is really quite impressive. Highly recommended. Haven't tried them with alexa/google home integration yet, but certain they'll do the trick

App Setup is very easy with the aqara hubHowever, even though the width of my rail was acceptable as per the advert, the loops for the u rail curtain were not tall enough for the E1 to hang on.The switchbot advert description is more accurate and may fit my curtain rail

Works very well with Home Assistant and Zigbee2mqtt. Using Sonoff Zigbee stick. No need for Aqara hub.

These curtains are not intuitive to setup if you don't use the Aqara app and want to use Home Assistant. To set the limits you have to press the button 3 times when the curtains are in the open and close conditions.Once you get these setup in home assistant it is mostly smooth sailing. Luminescence sensor is acceasibls in HA. There are buttons to set the curtains to 0,25, 75 and 100 closed. 25 and 75 do not work in home assistant. This is dissapointing but satisfactory for most users who just want to close or open completely.Would buy again. These curtains work fine, just know of their limitations in home assistant.

Motore elettrico per tende gestibile con le varie piattaforme smart a patto di avere un Hub Aqara o comunque compatibile con Zigbee. Una volta configurato è molto affidabile e in condizioni favorevoli (binari tende perfetti, senza salti o giunte) funzionano in modo impeccabile. E’ presente anche un sensore luce per automatizzare in base alle condizioni ambientali l’apertura o la chiusura ma personalmente utilizzo le automazioni offerte da homekit. Il rumore prodotto è tipico di un motorino elettrico, non fastidioso. La batteria dura un’eternità: 1 anno circa. Ed è ricaricabile tramite porta usb-c.

Wonderful little gadget, set it and forget it. Amazing integration with zigbee and matter, home assistant. Easy to install, but Please watch the video, before installation. I use it with Ikea curtains I 3D printed a little extender.
