Great quality and a great amount of chips in each bag. I’ve only used the apple so far for hot smoking some ham and the flavour was great!

First time ordering from this company and we thought the Hickory chips were brilliant, some pieces quite large compared to the image shown but that’s ok. Wish they did sample bags as would love to try the Whisky chips. Will definitely be purchasing some more Hickory ones when I run out. They really made our food taste delicious, just like Texas BBQ.

Preferred brand after trying many. Even burn, fair price, not overbearing, creates good smoke. Use different flavors for meat, fowl, fish and veggies but always the same brand.

Bought for use on my Kamado BBQ, the small size of the chips means that they burn up very quickly so not really suitable for a long slow cook. Great smoke taste on shorter cooks however!

We have used various wood chips in our BBQ's over the years usually purchased from local garden centres, which have been expensive for a small amount and whilst soaked for a long period as they have been small sized chips have burnt away quickly so really loosing their ability to influence the flavour of the items being cooked. Our last previous experience was to purchase a pack which turned out to be nothing more than chopped up kitchen units i.e chip board. So we went looking for something better than we had previously purchased but with a much better selection so we gave Amazon a look. Came up with these Guys at Gwernyfed Wood selling a variety of differing woods in a decent sized pack at a very reasonable price, so having read the reviews we gave the oak a try. Arrived ahead of time, well packed in a seal again poly bag, and had an excellent assortment of wood cuts. all shapes and sizes. Looked and felt far far better that our very average alternative previous purchases. A percentage of rough cut dust which we passed thro a normal colander to sift out and re bag separately, it was around 5% of volume not weight, and we used to sprinkle on the coals prior to adding the soaked chips, so not wasted. Whilst we dont have a smoker just a large normal BBQ, the wood was slow burning due to its size and gave off a sweet wood flavour that really did penetrate into the pork chops, chicken, sausages, burgers, and fresh veg with shrimps on sticks. So we really did enjoy this product, and we have more that enough to use for another 3 BBQ's. Sorry to rant on, but we are all very conscious of the effect on our environment that trashing our trees without any concern for the future, without the planting of the future generation, and Just having an interest in how much money can be put in the pockets of those trashers. We are surrounded by 5 houses all with log burners, and when you ask where does your wood come from and how sustainable is its source?, they have no idea whatsoever, but looks great when it's burning and putting shedloads of toxins into our air that we breath at the same time. So for us getting this product from such a sustainable source was another significantly added benefit.. purchase and enjoy their wood chips, you will not regret it.

Great for our summer bbq in the smoker easy to use and worked well on a long slow burn and flavoured the meat beautifully without cooking the moisture out, great would purchase again
