An epic story of war and survival set in the legendary Gundam universe! In the Universal Century year 0079, the space colony known as Side 3 proclaims independence as the Principality of Zeon and declares war on the Earth Federation. One year later, they are locked in a fierce battle for the Thunderbolt Sector, an area of space scarred by the wreckage of destroyed colonies. The fleets of the Earth Federation’s Moore Brotherhood and the Republic of Zeon have shattered each other in a bloody battle for the Thunderbolt Sector. Mirroring the greater struggle, the ferocious duel between Io Fleming and Daryl Lorenz leaves both the Full Armor Gundam and the Psycho Zaku heavily damaged and Io a prisoner of war. The Zeon space habitat A Baoa Qu now becomes the final battleground of the One Year War… Review: The one year war ends but as 0080 opens Zeon still fights on - Author and Illustrator Yasuo Ohtagaki brings us the next chapter in the Thunderbolt saga. Beginning on December 31 0079 with the fall of the Zeon fortresses A Baoa Qu, the Federation forces take with a lot more than what we saw in the original Gundam anime. They had a whole troop of Gundam head troops storm it and take their mobile suit construction facilities. Once they took the entire fortresses an armistice between the Federation and Zeon forces was signed and Zeon their colonies became a Republic. As the year tuned into 0080 the remnant Zeon forces have continued to fight back against the Federation forces and both Io who rejoined the Federation to pilot a new prototype Gundam and his old enemy the pilot of Physio Zaku are heading towards each other again. I highly recommend this series and I'm looking forward to reading the 5th volume. Review: Who would have thought? - Let me start off by saying I was never into manga. I've always been a comic guy just never peering into the rabbit hole of manga. Watched Naruto as a kid and killed all my friends on the playground but thats as far as I got with anime. When I saw the anime for thunderbolt I fell in love. Watched 08th MS team as well. Picked up this volume as it takes place right after december sky. Every single issue is now in my cart after reading this. I just couldn't get enough. Action packed and Im happy to see that the series hasn't ended yet. Throw on some jazzy tunes if you couldnt get enough of december sky and read this! I also went ahead and bought two of the thunderbolt master grades and built both. One with the armor and one without. Thats how into this I've gotten. I have no patience for model kits at all mind you. Yeah its that good. I

Volume 4 is building towards something big!
Volumes 4 of Gundam Thunderbolt is the weakest of the collection to date, not that it is bad, mind you. Its just the three volumes previous have been absolutely outstanding. New characters are introduced and the story within is indeed building towards something monumental to come on the horizon.

Great art work!
I have no cons. Great story and nostalgic where it needs to be. You can zip through the reading but you have to appreciate the artwork and in how it shows what's happening.
