Review: awesome series! - this series is so corny and middle school that I just love it. the first 3 books are obviously the best and the last 2 are okay but its nice to keep up with the characters. I recommend this series to a romance loving 10-15 year old. I read it while I was younger and I just wanted to have the physical copy with me. box sets are great! Review: Great books - Amazing books, fell in love with them. I'm not usually one to go for this type of book but they are well written and we are able to see actual character growth throughout the story. The main characters have their flaws, which makes it more realistic, and the author does a good job of making everyone have a background while not making it overwhelming for the reader.

PERFECT (some spoilers)
When I read the summary for this book, I thought meh, the plot seems a little iffy. I mean, how more shallow can you get than a bunch of girls competing for a guy’s attention? Turns out, you can get a LOT shallower. This book made me cry and laugh, and I read the whole series in a weekend. Some parts made me mad, but I can excuse those. I mean, we need some ups and downs in a series. The Selection follows America Singer as she leaves behind everything she’s ever known to basically fight 34 other girls in a last one standing competition to marry Prince Maxon (angel. perfect. need i say more), who is the embodiment of goodness and is just too pure for this mean world. Well, for Ilea. The relationship that America has with Maxon is perfect. Friends to lovers sort of thing. It’s wholesome in a way that we all need sometimes, and the writing is smooth and easy. It’s pleasure to read, and I reread the series every once and a while. COULD NOT RECOMMEND MOREEEEE!

Unique Young Adult Series
A younger acquaintance recommended this romantic series for YA. I am much, much older but was intrigued. I enjoyed them immensely as the premise was unique. A few flaws perhaps. Some story elements are not fleshed out or explained as they might have been by another, but seemed to be the author's choice to keep the narrative strictly from the point of view of the major character.

Absolutely Amazing - Almost…
I love “The Selection” series. It is an amazing romance with just the right amount of action and drama to keep it interesting. The main character in the first three books, America is lovely. She’s a strong, independent women who’s naive at love which is quite adorable. One of my favorite things about her is how relatable America is. After www III the newly governed America was divided into caste systems, America being in the lower castes made her much more appreciative about almost everything. America isn’t so vain and superficial then the other girls participating in the selection. Maxon, the prince, is also another character you couldn’t help fall in love with. Don’t get me wrong there were some super cringe worthy moments in there and some that were even annoying especially with the whole love triangle situation that was going on. However, one could argue that it aided the novels dramatic kick. The only reason this review got four stars instead of five is because…WHAT HAPPEN IN THE FOURTH AND FIFTH BOOK. Oh. My. Gosh. They were awful. I have high respect for Kiera Cass, but wow, she should have stopped at “The One”. The last two books tell the story not of America, but her daughter which mind you, big mistake. Her daughter is just so self absorbed and has no regard for other people around her. The last two books were so hard to read because she was just so annoying and irritating. That being said, I would recommend buying the first three books separately and not waste your time or money with the last two. Now this is my opinion, but heed my warning. First three phenomenal, last two not so much.

Maxon and Aspen are relationship goals!
Spoilers!! Y’all I can’t get over how much I absolutely LOVED this whole series! I can’t believe I sat on it for so long. It was the Bachelor/ Bachelorette meets the hunger games. I absolutely loved the first 3 books in this series! I couldn’t put them down and I was just drawn into all the drama; it was perfect. I could see how it might not be for everyone but it was it for me!! I don’t normally go for side story but I needed more of this series so I decided to give the last 2 books in this series a go and let me tell you I read both books in a day. I couldn’t get enough of them either. I was so excited getting to read more about how America’s and Maxon’s lives moved forward. How those close to them were still involved in their lives so much. I love how Aspen was still so much apart of the story even though he was very much a side person in the last two. I really enjoyed reading through Eadlyn story and how it was so different yet similar to her parents story. How she ended up with someone even though she hadn’t planned to and even more so he wasn’t even part of the selection! (All the heart eyes!!) Really the author did such a great job bringing both stories together! I just wish there was more for me to read. I know this series will be one to stay with me. Only thing I wish was that there had been duel POV because I’m dying to know more of what the guys where thinking and feeling through all 5 books! Though that could be hard with this series. Please don’t wait to read this series it just too good!!

Great series!
I bought this series not expecting to carry such a love for it! The plot, characters and just everything in the first 3 books is absolutly amazing! I would totally recommend this romance novel to anyone who has the interest in the genre. Its interesting and you get hooked easily! Im generally a slow reader but I read this in 3 days! The trilogy is absolutely wonderful, as it keeps you wanting to turn the page. Plot twists and romance galore! Now I will say that it isn't heavy on its dystopia, and hunger games vibes. Its not disappointing as its not the main focus anyways, but if you do buy the books just to let you know that it isn't a very heavy tone of dystopia and hunger games. Its there but its a bit lighter. Overall, the trilogy is great and I would totally recommend it for romantic fanatics. Now as for the follow up duology... thats a whole other story. Im giving 5 stars as to be fair and true to the original trilogy. But the duology is just not it. Im sorry Kiera Cass but there are way too many issues with the duology follow up series. For one, the main character is absolutly annoying and unlikeable. At least America had a fighting spirit and worked hard for what she wanted. I cant say the same for her daughter sadly. The book duology also gives me no interest. And I feel there is nothing to make me keep turning the page. There just isn't any excitement and wonder to keep me reading. So if you were to get this set, be warned that the last two books are just disappointing. For the most part though, I'm glad to have read this wonderful series and I'll keep on re-reading with a smile on my face. Considering buying because I surely didn't regret it and hopefully you'll have a jolly time reading it too! Good day and keep on reading!
