Med Lab 200 pH Test Strips 4.5–9.0 for Urine and Saliva Body pH Testing

...as with most pH test trips, my main gripe is simply a lack of consistency with the printed material needed to read the results. Having been in marketing/design for nearly a decade I can understand that it's not easy to get colors perfect - when you go to a printer you often have to tweak your colors several times before you find a formula that works, even if you use standard methods to match colors... every printer and their hardware varies. That said, I think companies that make these strips have a duty to go the extra mile to ensure their printed material is near perfect since it is literally a integral part of using the product, not just for marketing. I also think they should supply users with a few different variants of the chart for reading a) in different lighting conditions (cool & warm temp lighting for example), as well as b) a couple of chart variants for the different materials one might be using the strips in. For example, urine slightly colors the result with very minor not insignificant warm tint. To make things simpler one could suggest to use the warm lighting chart for, obviously warm temp lighting, but also for urine based testing. If you're in the medical field you probably already know that many of the machine that do these tests in labs simple use these same sorts of strips but read them with sensors, and basically all they do is ask what your testing and then compensate in the way. I've never understood why no one makes this same effort on stand-alone strips - as it is so simple and virtually zero extra cost to implement. This is just an idea, but I'd loyally buy and recommend any brand of strips that went this small but important extra mile! I still give these five stars because this gripe applies to every strip I've used before, regardless of brand, and aside from these are very decent strips. They're larger than some and made of a thicker material, so that's a plus as well. Aside from that though, they're not much different than others I've tried, so I really want to see someone go this extra mile and set themselves apart with the better charting material! Please!!!

This is my third bottle of pH Test Strips and I will continue to order them. My Newfoundland has had a problem with crystals in her urine. This is serious since it can lead to bladder stones. She will be on medication for the rest of her life. I test her urine a few times a week to ensure that it is in the correct pH range. The strips are very easy to use and read. They are also accurate, because they agree with the pH result that my vet gets using his more expensive lab equipment. My one complaint is that once opened, the bottle is good for only 90 days. I am never able to get through an entire bottle in 90 days so wind up throwing away at least half of the bottle. That being said, the strips are very accurate, reasonably priced, and the company provides outstanding customer service.

My dog had a high ph pee last vet visit and some crystals. Pic of my dog for moral support :) Vet said if he didn't lower it he would get bladder stones so I started using a supplement to acidify his pee. Now here I am running around trying to stick a ph test strip under his whoha's while he's doing his business and he gives me the look of utter confusion. 0/10 for getting pee on hands :). The test strips are okay as far as strip test kits are but you can only get a general reading. It was good enough for me as I could tell my dogs pee was down to 6 ish ph versus the 8.5 he was tested at in vet but couldn't tell if it was 6.5/6/5.5/7. If you want true accuracy get a digital meter like a Hannah checker. Also SOLID GOLD BERRY BALANCE animal supplement has worked great for my dogs urine support as an alternative to medicine. Also bottle expires 90 days after opening so you may not need over 100 strips unless using multiple a day.

Great product! Bought them to start tracking my PH levels to ensure my stomach acidity was appropriate after using a PPI for a couple weeks. The readings have been spot on. To be clear, I tested the strips first with apple cider vinegar to ensure acidic readings, came in at 4.5 as it should. I also tested it in baking soda water and it came in at 9.0 as it should. I have been using it for a month now and can trust the results. Only challenge is to read some results across a 1 or 1.5 variance as the colors can be similar. However, it will definitely give you a sense of where your readings are overall. Great purchase!

These strips work ok. I'm really not sure how accurate they are as they always read about the same daily and some mornings my urine reading colors seem off color (no real match). I was disappointed to read after I received them that that they have a 90 day life span once opened. I found a doctor's review on YT for alkaline water. It was very informative about body testing.

While it would be nice to not have to monitor things like urinary pH, the fact of life is that, as we age, things can go a bit haywire. so, in order to remain or become as healthy as possible, there are things that we must do that we did not have to do in our youth. As a long-suffering kidney stone production machine, I can tell you that anything that I can do to minimize the number of stones that I produce, I will do, if it is actually doable. Imagine my surprise when, about 50 years after suffering my first attack of renal colic I went to see a urologist who had treated me at a local hospital, on an emergency basis.t. Last year he found a few stone fragments in my kidney, but they were not causing me any trouble. I saw him last week for a checkup and he discovered several new stones. He told me something that I have thought impossible. He said that they can be dissolved. This is something that every doctor I have seen has told me cannot be done. But I trust this guy. He told me, simply, that my urinary pH must be ALKALINE. I figured that he did not mean AL KALINE (former Detroit Tiger!) We,, then, I have to test my urinary pH so that I know if the steps I am taking are working. I researched the various pH test strips that are available and found that this one is, by far, the best value, at least that I have found. I had them less than 48 hours after I ordered them. They are easy to use and easy to read. That is about all that one can ask of such a product. It seems likely that I will be testing my urinary pH from now on, so I am glad that I found this supplier.

These test strips are impressive. They react to urine very quickly and within the 15 second time interval, they really fine tune the reading. I have found the comparison chart easily readable when looking at the strip and chart. I’ve been using the product for a week, and I have seen a slight improvement of my pH over that time frame. So I have seen a change in readings- thus, I believe the sensitivity and the accuracy of the strips must be quite good. I’m on a very intense vegan diet, so I would expect to see some changes, very minute or substantially- and I have! I had been using a different brand, and no matter what I did, there was never an improvement in my pH reading. Now I see that it wasn’t me or what I was doing, but the product. I’ll continue using these strips as I’m very pleased with them.

Great product, awesome customer service. Strips are very easy to use, charts are easy to understand, detailed instructions are included in the box. I received a PH food chart in a follow up email from the customer service rep which I found to be very helpful.

As other reviews note, the results on one of these test strips can be ambiguous. In fact, in my experience, they have always been ambiguous. The idea is to match the colours of the two pads on the strip with a chart that displays the pair of colours that indicates each pH value in increments from 4.5 to 9.0. The problem is, so far I've never had an exact match. When you go to the manufacturer's website, the FAQ's say that this happens a lot, and that the strips aren't intended to give you an exact reading. Some say to prefer the top colour; some say to average the two pH numbers; but so far I haven't been sure whether my pH is 5.5 or 6.5, which is a big difference.
