12,500 Live Hypoaspis Miles (Predatory Mites) For Insects - Guaranteed Live Delivery!

We have bioactive reptile vivariums with soil, humus, and coco fiber mix substrate that use natural insect cleaners and have occasional grain mite, fruit fly, or fungus gnat explosions if things get unbalanced. Boosting our cleaners will eventually outcompete the pests for food but it can take many months as they find any other sources around the house to also live off of. I'm also in an agricultural area of the midwest and mice are inevitable every fall but this local population around the farmhouse we moved into comes with a parasitic mite. They can end up killing my gerbils and cause the cats and dogs to itch sores as the mites desperately look for more food sources. I spent 8months dosing my pet animals but meds only kill the mites after biting, trying to kill the infinite population of wild mice and stop their spread into an old house of infinite openings for them, and spreading nontoxic followed by less safe solutions all around areas of the house to kill the mites with no success. The population got so numerous despite all attempts that I began breaking out in red dots my doctor said did not look like any mite that typically bites humans. We decided releasing something that naturally hunts the pests down might be better than trying to kill or prevent every last one from managing to spread in the house. I actually didn't realize this arrived for 2 days as it sat at room temp before I spread the contents over damp soil and distributed it to vivariums and shallow seed trays of soil kept misted with water in several rooms. Even if it initially just looks like a container of nothing the barely visible mites could be seen when they started actively moving around on to different surfaces. Anything smaller than them or that reproduces in the soil was destroyed. Finally no more itching, no more medications, no more harmful compounds that the dry powders and sprayed areas took another couple months to clean off the floors, and bonus instant death of all flying pests instead of months of slowly killing them off. Even houses with no pets will get fungus gnats attempting to live on any moisture source including kitchen sink drains in areas of high insect levels like here so I think it's the only time in my life I've never seen any in a house for so long. I guess with a good food source the predatory mites multiplied and shortly after the pests disappeared I identified a gathering of the tiny moving dots around a water source as the hypoaspis. Then they were gone with no sign we ever released them except the lack of annoying flying or biting things around. I haven't seen a pest since then but if they make a reappearance in fall like most midwest pests of insect and rodent tend to do we are immediately spreading predatory mites without wasting all that time on insecticides, diatomaceous earth, vinegar in the sink drains, and scrubbing animal cages or sleeping areas. I'll gladly trade one temporary, nearly unseen critter wandering the house for a short time to kill all the pest ones that make themselves very noticeable.

Bought these to control a grain mite problem in my dubia and mealworm feeders. Released onto a moistened ground coconut substrate as soon as they arrived. Arrived packed with a cold pack when the weather was about 50f during the day and 30f at night. Saw 1-2 of the actual mites. Figured they were dormant due to the cold. Increased temp and humidity in the room to be favorable for the mites to proliferate. Started checking often to see if any of the purchased mites where active. Watched my grain mite issue EXPLODE until they were literally dripping from enclosures. Saw very few hypoaspis miles, could not even count 10 with strong light and magnification among the substrate or infected areas. Contacted seller and they sent a replacement, which was pretty much the same. 12,000 is a pretty large number, the container should come crawling with these little guys, not 1-2 and as the seller insisted, the rest being eggs and nymphs that you need to wait on hatching/growing. It's just not logical. I did wait the 18 day life cycle in hoping there would be some results, but nothing changed. Seems the few predator mites just ran away. There's something grossly wrong with this product, and I wish I hadn't gambled even with all the bad reviews. Seller did reship and refund after several emails during this lengthy process. Avoid.

First of all whenever you they arrive you pretty much immediately need to put them in your pot and don’t put them in pasta that you plan on repeating in the next few weeks. And if you’re unsure if there’s any live ones in there, you can do the paper test. I took a small amount and put it on a white piece paper and I took flashlight and I could see them crawling around. And since they have arrived, I have placed them in all of the pots that they needed to be in and I actually see them. I can actually see them crawling around sometimes sometimes of like I’ll move a pot to water it and I’ll see when crawled around on the edge of the pot. I’ve even found some in parts that I didn’t put them in, which is cool which means so migrating around looking for food sources have not my watch seen much of a declined and fungus Nas yet but I’m only on week and a half, but just the fact alone that I can see them crawling around hunting for food and looking for other food sources is a plus. So far I believe it has been worth every penny.

Hard to know if there really was live ones but they seem to be working okay. 🤷‍♀️ Still have a few mites on my snakes but they dont seem to be soaking as much anymore.

Got these after researching an alternative for the predatory mites sold in the UK. I used them in my terrarium for a rescue snake that had mites. I have not seen anymore mites on him or on his shed since using these. They are small so you have to sprinkle them on something white to see them crawling around. Good price and quality. Were effective for what we needed them for. Happy with this product!

Hypoaspis miles are great for fungus gnats and thrips! My favorite soil went out of business and used to come loaded with miles.. Now that I'm stuck with other 'reputable' soil brands that don't contain these babies, I'm noticing fungus gnats and thrip issues that stay persistent. The miles in particular don't seem as numerous as expected from the count number, though customer service did help me out. In any case, hypoaspis miles are what you want guarding your soil, these babies are worth every penny. I'm thankful there is a company out there shipping these little guys - they really keep the garden in check. Glad I snagged them!
