It works, what else could you want?
I'm using an XPS 15 9560 with a one cable connection to this. Running an RTX 2080Ti in it, and I'm using all 4 usb ports to connect to various peripherals and the Ethernet port for internet, and I'm routing to an external display from the GPU. This single connection also charges my laptop. This also includes a 2.5" SATA connection for storage, if you don't use it, disable it in device manager for quicker reconet speed. Clear up common misconceptions: You have enough space for 11.42" triple slot card. You have enough power for almost any GPU (2080Ti is 250 watt TDP, and my laptop only needs another 40W, less than 400W available), you can remove or attach egpu without rebooting. I needed a 6pin to 8pin converter to power a 2080ti. You can remove the legs and what you have left takes up way less space. gaming is pretty smooth, I don't think it's delayed. Witcher 3 at ultra detail in 3440x1440 is 70-90 FPS, which is better than my friends desktop with a 1080ti. TBH, if you're going to get a dock, you might as well use this. The thunderbolt dock I use at work (Dell's TB 16) is $250, so this is a way better deal. You can plug in any PCIE x16 card in, not just a gpu.

Awesome EGPU - known problem with USB ports
So this is a great E-GPU, I use it with my 13" Razer Blade Stealth with 0 compatibility issues. D/L the Omen software and it worked first time I plugged it in. The HDD port is for the smaller SSD drives not the big old(er) magnetic disk drives. There is a known issue with the USB ports on the back. The extra USB-C port works great and the ethernet port works without issue. The 4x USB 3.0 ports have issue where they are wonky to say the least. If you plug a keyboard or mouse into them you will get occasional disconnects. If you plug a webcam it will distort the video. The external HDD worked flawlessly though. You can google it, it's a known issue, so hopefully they find a way to patch it. until then, i bought a usb-c to USB-A hub and use the extra usb-c port to plug my keyboard/mouse etc... that solved the issue.

Used with an HP Spectre 13t 8th gen.
After coming from the Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1070 Gaming Box, which was more miss than hit, this unit has been flawless. I ended up pulling the 1070GTX from my Gigabyte case and placing this in the Omen Accelerator. I have not had one instance where this has (a) shutdown, (b) failed to be recognized, (c) disconnected mid-game, etc.. all of which I experienced with the Gigabyte unit. Its a bit on the large size, but given the ports and ability to add a hard drive / SSD to it, I really can't complain. This has turned my 2.5lb Ultrabook into a solid mid-level gaming system...

Well built unit with compatibility with HP Laptops - Use Caution
Beware if you are using a HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ac0xx. There is a huge instability with conflicts with the driver spuvcbv.sys that causes a BSOD constantly. I was in contact with the HP Tech team (who were awesome in continually following up BTW) in trying to resolve the issue. Unfortunately my patience ran out before any proposed technical fixes. Shame because I really was hoping for this to be a viable solution for me.

Not able to achieve the one cable dream with this enclosure...
It's not a bad Thunderbolt 3 enclosure... Standard ATX PSU, fits a full sized card, included TB3 cord is short but... included. The main issue I experienced is extremely slow speeds via the built-in USB 3.0 port. Unusable for a mouse, keyboard, or Xbox controller even. Purchased a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter to into the second thunderbolt port on the laptop and seems to have fixed the issue. Not sure if this is a limitation of TB3 speeds, the included cable, or the enclosure's USB hub, but appointed I'm not able to achieve the one cable dream.

Understand the differences of USB-C Gen 1 and USB-C Gen 2 (Thunderbolt 3)
I do not want to hurt the ranks of this product as I returned this product so, I am rating 5 stars. Make sure you do your research to confirm that you are in fact running Thunderbolt 3. I found that my HP Omen Laptop was not compatible even though I had USB-C. I do want to make it clear the amazing support HP provided in my discussions with them to confirm these findings.

Goliath form factor brings powerful graphic capability
I purchased this EGPU after encountering difficulties running VR with my beloved HP Spectre X360 13. This peripheral is by no means small and it would be hard to call it portable with a body as large as a desktop PC and weighing in at close to 9 pounds. It's bulky to say the least but all that room does allow for accomodation of a wide variety of graphics cards and an additional hard drive. I found the set up process to be somewhat lengthy and confusing with all the required updates and driver installations but HP customer service was very helpful and got me squared away in no time. Once all the software adjustments had been made I plugged the thunderbolt cable into my Spectre and was blown away! What an incredible difference this has made! No more mixed reality portal crashes and VR apps and games run smooth as butter. Now I have the versatility and style of my super thin and gorgeous Spectre ultrabook with the powerful graphics performance of a VR ready desktop. Nice job HP!

Great product for price point.
So far so good. Took a while to get all drivers working but on a work laptop. Put in a 2070 RTX. No techie so this took a while. Make sure you get all the power pins setup right or touch with a techie friend. I still have one driver that fails to load. Have it connected through a docking station. Have heard this limits 4k display but have no idea. Graphics have improved on my ultrawide screen
