I purchased the Twelve South HoverBar Duo iPad Stand about four months ago, and for the first three months, it worked great. However, in the past month, I've encountered significant issues. The stand has become increasingly unreliable, with my iPad repeatedly falling out of place, causing damage to the frame. This behavior is unacceptable for a product that's meant to securely hold an iPad. It's frustrating to see something that initially worked well deteriorate so quickly, especially since I’ve taken good care of the stand. The stand's inability to hold my iPad in place has led to multiple instances of damage. Given the circumstances, I’m requesting a full refund for this product. I expected a lot more from Twelve South, considering the price and reputation of the brand. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly.

I recently picked up the Twelve South HoverBar Duo (2nd Gen), and it has made a big difference in how I use my iPad day-to-day. It’s definitely more expensive than basic stands, so if you just need something simple, this might feel like more than you need. Switching between the desk base and the clamp takes a bit of time, since it’s not a quick attach system. And if you’re using a heavier iPad and extending the arm out farther, you do need to tighten the joints well to keep it from drooping. As for the weight, the base is heavier than most stands, which ends up being a good thing because it keeps everything sturdy and prevents tipping. But because of that weight, it’s not really a stand you’d want to move around constantly. Overall, it’s a great stand if you want something solid, stable, and highly adjustable. The build quality, magnet strength, and clean design make it feel like a premium accessory, and it’s worth the investment if you regularly use your iPad for work, calls, cooking, or creative tasks.

Twelve South makes great products, hands down. This hover bar is no exception. It is well made, easy to assemble and disassemble, it's easy to attach/detach your iPad, isn't made of cheap materials, and has excellent packaging. I've used this with a few different iPad sizes (i.e. regular iPad & iPad mini). This is an excellent option to display your iPad. I've ordered several different Twelve South products over the years and they continue to serve me well. I am always reminded just how much effort the company takes in their packaging. It is something to behold. It is truly "Apple Like".

Not sure what's with all the negative reviews. It works perfectly, is beautify designed and rock solid. It comes with allen wrenches so you can adjust the strength of the arms. The included base is surprisingly heavy and solid. Overall pretty happy with this stand. Using my ipad in sidecar mode next to my studio display is a game changer.

There’s a significant design and. OST difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 of this product. Gen 2 has a quick change clamp while Gen 1 needs an Allen key to swap over. These were very explicitly marketed as Gen 2 and were not. By the looks of things someone else had also been tried with this scheme and, like me, returned this misrepresented purchase. A waste of my time and of postage delivery. Only plus side is Amazon is great about returns.

I loved this for the first 5 months, but one of the plastic pieces that holds it in place broke after about 5 months. I sent pictures and a description of what happened to Twelve South and they shipped out a replacement under the warranty. I was really disappointed when it happened, but I'm now just pretty impressed by the high-quality customer service.
