Protects the inner of my tent from my hot stove
I have used this fire mat several times now and it works as described. I’ve had hot ash fall on it with no issues. When I’m done, I just wipe it off fold it up and put it away for next time. Can’t get easier than that plus I think the price is very fair. Warning update: While recently camping a large hot ember landed on the mat. I didn’t have tongs to pick it up and put it back in the stove so I just left it alone. I’ve had other small embers land on it with no issues. When I went to pack up the mat, my canvas tarp and my vinyl tarp both were melted completely through where the ember was sitting. The fire mat was not damaged. The heat transferred through the mat and literally melted my two tarps underneath it. If this mat was sitting on top of my wood deck, I believe it would have scorched it or worse. Buyer beware.

DOES NOT PROTECT COMPOSITE DECKING FROM HEAT
Did NOT protect my composite deck from the heat of the fire pit. Tis pat started to stick to the decking and had to be pried off. It also start to curve up and collect water.

good for temporary use
This is not a firm mat, it's the same material as a grill cover so it kinda curls up just a tad. It's good for temporary use like camping because it washes well and rolls up for storage.

Did not save our grass
This did not protect our grass underneath our fire pit. We do not have a designated spot in our yard for our fire pit, so we take it out and place it on the grass only when we want to use it. I was excited to have this mat in order to protect our grass, especially since we do not leave our fire pit out all of the time. However, after one use, the grass was dead. It was slightly better than previously when we placed the fire pit directly on the grass, but only slightly. The grass still died and we had a clear circle the rest of the summer. Our fire pit does sit low to the ground, so perhaps that was something to do with why it was so unsuccessful. Very disappointing. Currently looking for a new option for this year.

Worked great
Went camping and we can't have open fires here so we had a propane fire pit we were using and wanted to make sure we didn't cause any issues since there have been so many fires around lately. It was a good size and we had no issuews with it. Seemed a good quality and should last. For $19 for peace of mind it was worth it.

Good for OTHER uses too!
Worked great for a post birdfeeder with four feeders. All I had to do was slit it toward the center and then duck tap it back together to catch the bird seed that was landing on the grass. Better price than tree skirts that did not work out.

Placed it underneath my fire pit and stop the heat from hitting the deck. It sown wiell and appears to be durable.

Great for under a propane fire, or stopping a ember from a fire with a large air gap. These are NOT made to build a fire on a wood deck. Add concrete pavers first, or brick

This mat is great for under a fireplace. It flattens much better than other options I have tried and it seems to protect what is underneath pretty well.
