Vegan meals approved
Have been using this product for years! As a vegan this is an excellent choice to make my vegan phish recipes. Iโve made vegan phish sandwiches , chickpea choona (vegan style tuna fish) , โcrabโ fries just to name a few. This really does give my seafood meals that fishy smell and taste I use to love.

Great for mock fish recipes
I use these when making mock tuna and vegan paella. They add a fish-like taste that makes seafood-style vegan dishes satisfying. Caution, however, a little goes a long way.

Good stuff for low energy/thyroid!
I went on a health kick and used to take a teaspoon of granulated kelp in my late 20's and early 30's. I had boundless energy, riding bikes, horses, weightlifting, running, etc. I stopped at a certain point, became lethargic, gained weight, poor mood, etc as I was my usual state before I started using kelp. A few years later, I was confirmed as being hypo-thyroid (probably from the womb he said). I forgot all about kelp until about 10 days ago. I ordered this product and one day after I took the 1/8 tsp, I stopped taking 1 grain of the 2 grain natural desiccated prescription thyroid as an experiment. I felt no different than if I had taken the extra grain. After 7 days, I stopped taking all of the thyroid. I feel wonderful. Instead of weak and jumpy, I feel peaceful and have enough energy that I don't even think about what I have to do for the day. I used to calculate how much energy it would take on a case-by-case basis to do anything, even grocery shopping. I now know kelp was what gave me health long ago and is the answer to my hypothyroidism today. Maybe I'm crazy but I love to eat some of the granules too, as they're soft, tasty and chewy.

Like taking a header right into the ocean floor
I don't know what I expected from these, but it was something more delicious than what I got. Let's be real: these are seaweed granules. And that's just what they taste like. I mix them into my daily bone broth, but they generally sink to the bottom right away. So the last bit of broth is always full of gritty granules that taste like the ocean floor. Not great, but hopefully they're at least good for me.

Jackfruit
I use the kelp granules when I make tuna with jackfruit. Fresh jack is a mess to clean. Canned in brine I rinse multiple times and then soak in water overnight, drain, rinse and follow any recipe. Jackfruit canned in water would be better but hard to find.

Disappointed
I was attempting to make tuna salad without the tuna using a recipe from a cook book for a whole food plant based diet. The book suggested dried kelp would add a seafood type flavor. I did not taste any identifiable flavor. The product in and within its self is fine. It's just not what I wanted.
