Learning Resources 1-2-3 Build it! Car, Boat, Plane, 15 Pieces

This is a great set for the little ones with curious minds and like putting things together. My 3 & 4 year old great-nephews had a blast with this set...they liked how easy it was to put together and take apart.

We love these 1-2-3 build it sets. They keep our 2 ½ year old twins busy for quite a while. The boys quickly picked up how to assemble the three vehicles all by themselves just by looking at the easy-to-follow picture diagrams. I like the looks of accomplishment that follow. Once built, the toys are very sturdy and all wheels and rotors move smoothly. Learning Resources had the insight to make these pieces just the right size for little fingers to work with. To keep the peace, we also have Learning Resources 1-2-3 Build It! Rocket, Train, Helicopter, 15 Pieces . Only one vehicle per set can be built at a time, so having two different sets for two kids is the perfect solution. After one child has made all three vehicles in their set, they enjoy switching with each other—it’s refreshing to see such cooperation and enthusiasm over shared toys. I think this car/plane/boat set has easier to build vehicles. The other one isn’t hard, but the pieces fit together more smoothly when the bodies are built before attaching to frames. We initially had to demonstrate how to do that, but the kids only had to be shown once. That said, the kids seem to like the other set more for playing purposes; perhaps because the vehicles are a bit more intricate and look more realistic.

Assembly is easy enough that my 18 month old can manage to physically assemble with guidance on where to put the pieces (aside from the base of the car). At first, he was frustrated that he couldn't build all the vehicles at the same time, but he gets it now. It's been a great first building toy for him, and for the price, you can't really go wrong.

My toddler loves this thing. He loves pulling the wheels off and rebuilding it. He loves the propeller and spinning it. This is one of the few toys that can actually hold his attention for more than a few minutes. The pieces are well made and sturdy enough to put up with toddler abuse. My only complaint is to clean it, some of the pieces can only be wiped down and not submerged in water because it would get water inside the inner parts.

What a great way to learn to follow instructions. Colorful sturdy pieces. My grandson did need help pushing the pieces into full click position but the instructions for each build were clear enough for our 4yo grandson.

I bought this for my grandson and my son said it was perfect for the 2-3 year old age group. Just the right amount of pieces to allow the child to feel in control of building something.

We absolutely loved this toy! My two-year-old was able to put it together by himself, and he was so proud of himself. He loves planes, boats, and cars already, so this toy was perfect for him! It challenged him to try to build each of the three possibilities using the same pieces. This toy was also fun for my four-year-old. This would make a great gift for anyone needing gift ideas.

This is a fun building set that could be a lot better. The car cannot be built because there is a design flaw (in our set anyway) that doesn’t allow the front of the car to connect to the middle section of the car. So that’s a huge bummer for my 3 and 5 year olds. It’s also not interchangeable with the other set we have (train, helicopter) and I assumed it would be. I should have read the reviews. I would not have purchased this had I known it wasn’t compatible with the other set.

Fantastic toy. My 2 year old and 5 girl love assembling and disassembling! I can see their little brains working as they play.
