Space saving alternative to a stereo microscope with a good working distance.
This scope replaced a vintage optical stereo microscope. While it's not stereo, I've found it to be adequate for soldering surface mount components and the working distance is much better. Illumination is good and adjustable. Picture quality is very sharp. I did buy a cheap wide angle lens for this scope, but found that it degrades picture quality, so I only use it if I really need the width.

Great value and twice as nice with a $11.40 wide-angle/macro lens upgrade
After months of agonizing over not having a better microscope and being unable to justify dropping over $600 on a higher-end interchangeable-lens/autofocus camera setup + a Barlow lens, I decided to buy this as it seemed to tick all the boxes for my needs a few of my wants. Overall, I was impressed with the picture quality, but part of me still missed the high-end optics and auto-focus. Then, thanks to another reviewer (props RCJad!), I decided to add the Xit XT30WAB 30mm 0.43X Wide Angle Lens ($11.40 on Amazon) and it's made the AD407 so much better. The XT30WAB lens brings a slightly wider to see more of the PCB and it has a Depth-of-Field (DoF) of approximately 1 inch/25 mm, making PCB requiring far less refocusing while you work! Now, I can see the PCB *and* my tools, tall components, etc. while I work. Now I can tilt a PCB to inspect it WITHOUT constantly refocusing or shifting the board up and down. I'd still love to have autofocus, but with this DoF, I don't really need/miss it most of the time. (Andonstar - You need to sell these or similar as your own so buyers don't have to research them on their own.) Keep in mind, even with the additional lens, the AD407 isn't going to compete for with a $600+ microscope with interchangeable lenses, a larger/taller stand and a camera with autofocus, but this is half the cost, a great formfactor for a workbench, has a very nice display built-in and it works really well for all but really large PCBs. Just get a wide-angle/macro lens and you'll enjoy it a whole lot more. Note: There are also mods that people do mount these cameras to microphone stands/arms to allow you to raise them higher or work on larger PCBs (large motherboards, arcade PCBs, retro computer repair, etc.). It does require some rewiring of the LED lights, however.

Andonstar AD407 Pro Digital Microscope
Andonstar AD407 Pro Digital Microscope Wow—words can’t fully describe this product! This digital microscope is absolutely amazing. I use it every day for my DIY projects, and it never disappoints. The screen is clear with excellent visibility, and the microscope feels premium and sturdy, made of metal and built to last. It’s spacious enough to handle most of your needs, and the zoom quality is impressive. All of this at a very affordable price. Highly recommended for hobbyists, students, or anyone who loves exploring the microscopic world!

Sharp images, but I wish it would go wider
I bought this mostly for SMD soldering. The image quality is super sharp (that's a deer tick there, except for its head which, well, came off in the process). But I wish I could raise the camera higher off the platform so as to get a wider view, and it would also be nice to be able to tilt the camera to the side. Still, after a bunch of SMD soldering I was pretty happy with the experience and the lack of eyestrain.

I like it very much except for the stand that it came with. Now I use a microphone boom arm.
The microscope, camera, and screen work very well. But I don't like the stand. It does not go as high as I would like, and every time I need to reposition it I have to loosen and tighten some screws. So I bought an Elgato Wave Mic Arm Premium: https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Wave-Mic-Arm-Broadcasting/dp/B09737ZXMK At first I thought I would need to make an adapter to use the wave mic arm with the microscope. But it just so happens that the Elgato arm uses the same screw thread as the microscope mount! (see photo). With the above mentioned modification it is much easier to position the scope wherever I want. It saves a lot of time and greatly extends the vertical range.

Essential Equipment !
One of the benefits of modernity is that occasionally people get the opportunity to afford powerful tools, and this is one of those tools. I bought mine for the occasional PCB inspection and repair, but am sure the possibilities are limitless. I did get the macro lens that others have suggested and 'am glad that I did. The unit comes in a nice and very reusable box. For now I left my AD407 fully assembled, sitting in my garage bench and ready for action, with it's own plastic bag doubling as a dust cover.

Great performance at an excellent price
I do a lot of tinkering with electronics. For decades, I’ve relied on my trust 10x eye loupe to inspect part numbers, color codes, solder joints, whatever. Trust me when I say - this digital microscope is the best thing since... well... 10x eye loupes. No more squinting. No more trying to angle the object just right under the desk lamp. This scope just works. The ability to photograph the image for future reference or documentation is just icing on the cake. If I had one complaint, it would be that the adjustable focal distance is not optimal. I quickly found myself wanting a wider angle of view — the lense allowed it but the vertical travel topped out too soon. I solved this by designing and 3D printing a 87mm spacer and buying two 100mm screws to lift the bracket off the plate enough to fully utilize the entire focus range of the lens. Not a necessary modification by any means, but worthwhile if you have the means and desire.

Love this thing!
I use this all the time. The video quality is awesome! The size is perfect for the repairs that I bought it for. It’s very versatile, use it with my kids to see textures of other materials. The magnification range is good and the ease of use is exceptional. The performance exceeds my expectations.

a great microscope for micro soldering .it is very easy to use and the controls are well laid out. for the price its value for money .it magnifies a lot and feels well built . when using the lights can get in the way at times . and an otion for anti glare would be helpfull . the remote control is a handy feature as it enables you to take a picture without moving the object under it . and the hdmi output is a great feature of this scope. the only gripe is at the very bottom of the adjustment the scope does not focus at all . it goes out of focus around 3 inches from the bottom. so getting any closer is not possible. its still a very able microscope.

Aún lo he utilizado poco pero se ve un buen producto para profesionales o aficionados a la electrónica que quieran trabajar con componentes montados en superficie. La imagen obtenida es muy buena haciendo que el trabajo sea más fácil.

The image quality is probably as good as it gets for the price range. The screen is also decent, I do not feel the need to connect to a larger monitor. Definitely would recommend the pro stand for stability. Though not as good as stereo optical microscopes (for depth perception), this definitely does the job at the price range.
