PROXXON 38704 MICROMOT AC Adapter NG 5/E

Got this for my Micromot 60 (no speed control) and STS 20e, both work great. Has one banana plug for other than Proxxon DC connections.

You only know you need something like this once you do. I needed a pen sander, and Proxxon delivered. Value for money! Unfortunately, it needs this behemoth of a transformer to work. That is Great, though, because you can hook up three tools simultaneously, which is even better! I only have one tool right now, but I'm looking at the rotary tool next. It's a little pricey, but I lucked out and got a used version. I LOVE the power adjustment as well. Excellent stuff.

After trying four other supposedly powerful "manicure type machines", to help me with the lighter duty tasks to make small metal tool tips to sell, they all failed to stand up to regular use over time. The Proxxon tool is the first one that easily does the work I need with no overheating or bogging down. I use this transformer along with the Proxxon 28500 12-Volt Rotary Tool Micromot 50 and the Proxxon 38700 Foot Switch. With the speed control of the transformer along with the foot switch, it makes controlling the speed of the handset even easier. I thought I would save money by buying a cheaper machine, then had to replace it more than once. I guess I got what I paid for. The power of this set up and the dependability of the Proxxon name more than makes up for the modest price difference, after getting a great deal on Amazon. I think this will be the last small rotary machine I will need to buy for my business. Added comment on 12-25-13 ...I've been using this machine for well over a year now and it's still just as dependable and powerful as on day one. I bought this with micro sanding pen. I now have 2 pens. (Because when one gets hot I switch to the other, and back, exc.) So I can work for longer periods of time. And the speed control is nice when sanding. This saved my fingers from hours of sanding with your finger tips. And tight places

if they just designed their small hand power tools to operate on line voltage, this heavy and clunky thing would simply not be needed. I returned this and the small sander that required it. Not a good design IMO.

The transformer is solid and dependable, what else is there to say. A bit pricy. Supports many tools as well.

I use this transformer for delicate jobs with the Proxxon Engraving Tool with no problems. The big test comes when plowing my way through the skin of a hard, thick gourd using the Proxxon Jig Saw. This transformer packs enough power for the gourds, but has the finesse to handle more delicate power needs with ease. Proxxon continues to bring quality tools to the market, and I continue to love them.
