Chainsaw Safety Helmet

Of the dozens even hundreds of items I have bought off Amazon over the years this is by the far most remarkable I wish there were more than 5 stars. How is this safety helmet made at this price ???. Simple to put together, a little extra pressure need for the clips, but no instructions required, just a little common sense. My hat size is 7 7/8 inch, yes I'm a big chap and was reluctant to buy as I thought it would be too small. Without any adjustment fitted me perfectly out of the box and comfortably, with the interior bands covered in 'cloth'. It is very well made, and is held in place on the head by the pressure of the ear defenders that work wonderfully and far superior to the little yellow ear plugs I normally use. Time will tell if it us durable but experience to date suggests it will last for some time. I bought a new chain saw recently and considered ditching the safety goggles and ear plugs (I'm a domestic user with wood burner). Wished I bought one of these years ago, I cannot recommend this product enough, well done Oregon.

Seems pretty good. Much better than having loads of debris falling on me. The mesh face guard is very good. Comfortable to wear with an adjustable head band to keep it a snug fit. Ear defenders are very good and also comfortable. For the money it isn't worth working on hedges and trees without it.

Instructions booklet absolute rubbish; the print and diagrams are so small it's if they expect an eagle to read the thing. If you look at the product photos on the box or in the Amazon listing applying common sense it's easy, very easy, to work out how to assemble the product. The fit is good and easy to adjust. The ear defenders are excellent, doing a good job at muffling sound. The visor is great. At first, when I read the description I thought that the mesh may obscure one's vision but this turned out not to be the case. In use, the mesh in front of your face is barely noticed (your view of what you are working is in no way obstructed). The mesh is fine enough that it will block out most saw dust but.......if you are doing a lot of sanding, or cutting with a circular saw it would be advisable to also wear a dust mask to block the finest dust particles from entering your lungs. The mesh visor is easily removed for times when it's not needed. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be easy to remove the ear defenders but they can be rotated away from your ears if you don't want wear them (however, in this position they remain attached to the helmet). There's no chin strap for extra support/security. I would have preferred 'day glow' yellow as the colour rather than orange. The material from which the helmet is made seems very robust. All in all, an excellent product for the price.

Great price point and a great item covers my head size 7 3/4 very large and fits my wife’s too she has a lot smaller head. The visor is great mesh and the head phones do work and cut out a lot of noise.

Liked the metal visor, better than plastic/nylon. Well built, good fit. Easy to adjust to fit. Decent weight. A little difficult to assemble.

Netjes verpakt en bezorgd. Product is echt degelijk met een uitstekende pasvorm. Zeer makkelijk middels draaiknop aan hoofd aan te passen. Heel goed! Ben zeer tevreden over de kwaliteit. Super.

Ich habe mir das Set bestehend aus Helm, Gehörschutz und Sichtschutz für hobbymäßiges Arbeiten mit der Kettensäge gekauft. Ab und an Brennholz sägen sowie Waldarbeiten waren der gedachte Einsatzzweck, das klappt problemlos und gut! Das Set wird zerlegt geliefert, Gehörschutz und Visier müssen angebaut werden. Wenn man die (deutsche) Anleitung dann mal verstanden hat, klappt das auch ganz gut, die Beschreibung könnte aber schon etwas deutlicher bzw. die Piktogramme besser dargestellt sein. Das war`s aber auch schon mit der Kritik, ist der Helm zusammengebaut hat man ein robustes Einsatzwerkzeug, dass seine Zwecke zumindest im Hobbybereich bestens erfüllt. Der Helm trägt sich ganz angenehm, Einstellmöglichkeiten sind ausreichend vorhanden, so dass der Helm verliersicher und ohne verrutschen auf dem Kopf sitzt. Der Gehörschutz macht seinem Namen alle Ehre, natürlich kann man auch ohne Schutz sägen, auf Dauer ist das so aber schon sehr viel angenehmer und entspannter. Vor allem hohe Frequenzen werden gefiltert, die Kettensäge klingt so sehr basslastig und dumpf - angenehm. Auch beim Gehörschutz sind die Einstellmöglichkeiten absolut ausreichend. Er kann durch Höhenverstellung ideal eingestellt werden. Die Möglichkeit, den Schutz bei einer kleinen Pause hochzuklappen ist top. Auch das Visier erfüllt seinen Zweck. Nach meinem Empfinden ist die Maschenweite sehr gut gewählt, die Sicht nicht wirklich eingeschränkt. Der Schutz ist aber definitiv vorhanden, auch kleinere Splitter werden sehr gut abgefangen. Das Visier macht dazu noch einen stabilen, wertigen Eindruck. Fazit: Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis mit uneingeschränkter Empfehlung für Hobby-Anwender.

Great safety hat for the price. The head adjustment grip is a little temperamental and if too tight gives me a headache but the shield has been amazing for chainsaw work and ear muffs when I need them have been good too. Easy to store away on helmet. Overall happy with this product for the price.
