Vet put my cat on a quarter tablet a day and this will be for the rest of its life. I tried using a knife with a tablet on a chopping board. It worked but not well as some quarters were not really quarters. So did research on pill cutters and this one came in cheapest at £2.99 from Amazon, next day free delivery. Another site had £2.49 but with a £3.45 postage. So Amazon got the business and true to their word it arrived the next day. Very simple to use. Raise the cutter open. Place pill in the V-shaped guide and gently close it and the pill is halved. I then took one half of the pill and with the round side against the V guide, making sure it was square level at the bottom of the pill because if not the next cut would not give quarters. If you have eyesight issues or problems with finger movement then it might be a bit fiddley and only ideal for you if you want to half a tablet. Anyway, I lined up the half tablet and brought the cutter together. Perfect cut. No force is needed and no crushed tablets. I would recommend this cutter to you.

Wow fantastic little tool. My cat has a brain tumour and needs her pills halved, I’ve been struggling to break these and was advised by the vets to invest in one of these tools. As it’s Xmas and money a little tight I went in search for the cheapest one I could find. To my surprise this was the cheapest and I’m so happy, it’s so easy to use and I decided to do every tablet, that’s two months worth. Every tablet broke into two pieces so this tool works 100%. Don’t waste money on the more expensive one this one is brilliant

The pill cutter was fine and did the job quite well. Not perfect halves, but the pills I needed cutting were small, round with no scoring on them, so did well enough. My biggest grievance is with Amazon themselves. I am getting mightily fed up with receiving items that have obviously been used and returned. Dirty, marked and in some cases scratched. Boxes battered and not nearly new. In this instance, the item was so inexpensive and I was desperate to use it, that I washed it and got on with it. In the past I have always returned such items, and Amazon have always accepted them, but I wish they wouldn’t send them out in the first place.

I've had the other non-branded versions - and this is not a promotion for a brand - and they performed poorly in comparison, which other reviewers have said the same thing. I had very small tablets to cut and this cut them cleanly and exactly in half. But... It's not keen on the film coated ones. It goes through most of it except the other coated side and it stays on the cutting blade so I've had to gently push it to cut through. Once done it's still cut the tab in pretty much exact halves. And, unlike the non-branded ones, the tablets don't crumble. But, I've only used this on very small tablets so I can't comment on larger ones. But, for small ones, it works great.

I had to buy this to be able to cut my dogs medication. For whatever reason his tablets are 1 @ 1/2 and 2 @ 1/4 twice a day. Why I cant have a lower does per tablet I dont know as its not easy cutting a 1/4 of a tablet. However this cheap and simple cutter manages it quite well. Yes its basic but realistically what else do you need unless you are cutting hundreds at a time. Easily takes a full size paracetamol oval tablet. The first cut is perfectly clean cut even without a line on the tablet. The 1/4 cut not always perfect but more than adequate. I lost a few bits of tablet trying to cut with a knife, but all bits have been useable with this cutter. I would recommend this. Its so cheap I cant see any reason to pay more.
