What type of battery does this watch use?

I bought the Energizer 2016 brand, you'll need to look for CR2016 on the battery in the package. Mine came in a 2 pack for about $8.00 at Walmart.

Is it small enough for women?

I bought this watch for my husband as he wanted a watch that was easy to read without all the gimcracks found on a lot of other watches. It is a standard man sized watch of about 1 inch across so if you are looking for a little delicate looking watch, this is not it. So it depends on what you think of as a 'womans' watch. If you are referring to the size of the band then you can always have more holes punched to make it fit a woman's wrist. If is a good looking watch. Very traditional.

Is this watch loud like the Timex weekender?

It isn't quite as loud as the Weekender, but the ticking sound is definitely noticeable. It doesn't bother me, but I can see how it would annoy others.

Why is this half again as expensive as the same thing sold by the manufacturer? I'd like to buy it, but not with that kind of mark-up.
