Yes it is a genuine product. Lovely brush.

I have never used a brush to put on liquid foundation before. Would this brush be ok for doing this Job?

This is only a very small brush. I use it for putting foundation on around tricky areas of my nose (and applying concealer around my eyes), but if you want a general foundation brush to use on your face, you would do better with the Real Techniques foundation brush or the Real Techniques buffing brush.

Can it be used for contouring?

I suppose it could, i use it for my highlight setting powder
