Pretty good drill press replacement for those on a budget
Like others, I removed one of the springs as it was too much push back and too squeaky to use otherwise. I got this one because I thought having the chuck moulded to the armature would make fore more square drilling, and I think I'm right. Also, it's easier to connect the chuck to your drill than the other Wolfcraft model where you connect it to the body of your drill and tighten it with two knobs. I hadn't considered that the mouth of the chuck only goes up to 10mm so that's important. The teeth of the chuck aren't tight, so sometimes it spins if you're not careful when tightening it. You get what you pay for basically, on balance I would probably get the other model as I wouldn't have chuck issues, and the other one's got a shop vac attachment which would be super useful.

Good product, works well.
Well made, works very well and gives nice straight drilling.

Better than working by hand
Helps get hole straight but small base and couple of degrees of flex in the structure so not equal to a press drill. But it's much cheaper than a press drill, so you get what you pay for. I screwed a small piece to ply to the base, which allowed me to clamp it down to help keep it flat.

Works well, more accurate than I expected.
Used this to drill through a steel bolt, needed to make sure I went dead straight. This did the job and is great if you don’t have a pillar dril/drill press, or can’t get a drill press into where you need to drill. The quality of this could be slightly better, I’d prefer metal fixings as opposed to the plastic ones, but I have to say it works great, very little runout in the Chuck, and I was able to drill my bolt hole very easily. Time will tell how it holds up to more use, but so far so good.

No bearing in chuck spindle, sloppy fit with too much play.
I had high hopes but out of the box I could feel a considerable amount of play in the drill attachment spindle that holds the chuck. Undoing the circlip that holds it in place reveals no bearing at all, it's just metal on metal and the fit is quite poor with a fair bit of slop - there's no way anyone could get an accurate cut/centring that would hold its place. Might be fine for basic lightweight use but even the frame's uprights has considerable twisting wobble so I wouldn't trust it under medium or angled force especially with the extra weight of a drill attached to the top of the spindle which would only serve to cause further issues. Not worth the full money, not worth the £20 off offer price I got it for. A £9 plastic framed thing I got off ebay was considerably better in the chuck spindle area with a nice chuck and two quality tight bearings with no movement at all (the plastic frame of the ebay one though leaves something to be desired!)

It works but see notes below
I liked this tool - used with a DeWalt cordless for making 120 holes in a piece of 18mm ply that need to be square. It did seem to need a bit of lubrication (certainly would advise that to make it last. It was a little wobbly and not perfectly square (c.f. a proper drill press). It does have numerous options for drill angles and drilling square and centrally into tubes and battens. Overall it is well worth the money and a great addition to the tool box. I would just like it to be a bit more solid.

Delivery as according to scheduled timing, extremely fast . Product good quality made. Assembly takes 10 mins, it is easy. Very stable and 90degree straight on the work piece. I am very pleased. Highly recommend.

For what it is, and for what it costs this is pretty good and nearly great. Here are a couple of setup suggestions that may mirror some other comments: * Always set up the drilling angle with a proper protractor of some sort - the indices on the base are pretty rough. If you require an exact 78.45° angle, you may be tinkering a bit, but once set it appears to hold pretty well. * There is a small hole in the guide transversal (that big metal web between the two posts that carries the drill chuck) - put a couple of drops of good lube in there (I used TriFlow, but any good oil will do). * When you assemble it the first time, leave the spring on the depth-stop side off completely. As other posters have noted the return spring pair is really stiff - unless you have a need for that, start with just one. You can always put it back. I found that, for my use, one spring going a full length of the shaft gives a nice return. * Put a dab of glue on the handle nut under the base - you know that's going to wander off someday. * I rubbed a little wax on the guide bars - made them operate more smoothly. * You may want to make a second foot for it - the metal one is designed to do everything, but it only has a couple of tiny rubber feet for friction, so you may need to bolster it a bit. This isn't a Bridgeport mill, but it doesn't cost like one (and you can carry it around). Pretty well made and works well for anything I'll be doing with it. My sole complaint is that it has a keyed chuck and you have to hang on to the key. If Wolfcraft offered a keyless chuck as an option, I'd have gotten that. You can get chucks and adapters for a few bucks so I may retrofit it if it's a problem.

too much plastic in the key parts and too much motion in the assembly. this isn't very sturdy and could be made a better by using more metal parts to adjust the angle of the drill.
