Nice block plane. The quality is better than expected for the money. The adjustable mouth is a very handy function. Mostly used it for pine so far but with a sharpening of the blade hard wood should be fine as well.

Terrible product! I bought it for the Stanley name but this is a total let down. The screw securing the top plate does not tighten enough and the whole plane keeps coming apart during use. Very poor design, no idea why they changed from a top tightening turn knob. Useless piece of rubbish. It’s going in the bin!

Perfect Block Plane and was pleasantly surprised that I need the adjustable sole.

J'ai acheté ce petit rabot de paume en remplacement d'un très ancien que j'avais du mal à régler correctement. Pour l'instant je l'ai juste essayé pour voir ce que ça donne. La prise en main est satisfaisante et son poids donne un sentiment de solidité. La semelle est brute d'usinage et va nécessiter un peu de travail afin d'améliorer la glisse. Je suis satisfait de cet achat.

Rispetto a diverse recensioni che ho letto, non ho dovuto rettificare la suola ne le sponde. La suola è perfettamente liscia, le sponde assolutamente verticali e in squadro con la suola. Già qui, cominciamo molto bene! La regolazione di questo pialletto è molto semplice, con la vite a ghiera posteriore si può decidere facilmente di quanto far sporgere la lamma, decidendo così la profondità di piallata, con le altre si può regolare bene l'inclinazione e l'apertura della bocca della pialla. Non sono un esperto falegname e ho tanta strada da fare per padroneggiare la piallatura che è una vera arte, ma posso dire con certezza che questo strumento agevola il lavoro anche a una persona non espertissima come me e il risultato è pulito, il truciolo è lungo e a spirale come nei video, e la superficie piallata praticamente non ha bisogno di carteggiatura. Sono veramente soddisfatto, credo che inizierò a risparmiare per comprare la sorella maggiore da 170 euro.

This was once a high quality tool. This new iteration is decidedly flimsier and cheaply constructed.
