Good for scar make up
I bought this to use a make up on stage for a character who had to have a significant scar across the face. I had looked on Youtube at various methods for doing this and rigid collodion looked to be the best bet. Having used it for 6 performances so far I am very pleased with my purchase. The product is very easy to apply (brush included in the lid), you simply paint it onto the skin. As the solvent evaporates the long chain polymers in the product start to contract and they pull the skin. If you are looking to apply this to kids, don't worry - it doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable whilst it is doing this. If you want more of an effect you can apply a second layer. You then apply makeup over the top of it. It looked so realistic a couple of people I had been in rehearsal with for weeks commented they hadn't noticed my scar before! Having looked at the Youtube videos and read a few hints on using it I would point out the following: 1) Yes, there is a solvent which needs to evaporate but ignore the Americans who say apply it by an open window with a fan running. The bloke next to me in the dressing room is a surgeon. He couldn't smell the solvent as I applied the make up and when he saw the product details he had no worries about being near it. 2) I applied it from above the temple to the eyebrow and then from the lower lid to the jaw. It works very well on the cheek where the skin is loose. It works OK on the forehead where the skin is less flexible. It worked extremely well on the lower eyelid. (see below) Don't get it on your hair/eyebrows! 3) Getting it off can be fun! It says 'peals off easily'. Easily is a comparative term. It does peal/rub off eventually but water will have no effect and acetone (not applied near the eye!) worked but wasn't the best thing for my skin. Getting it off the lower eyelid was very tricky. 4) Use a grease removing cleanser before applying. If there is any grease present then the edges will lift. This actually gives you an edge to start pealing from so is useful but is tricky to smooth down with makeup. 5) You use very little of it. I bought two bottles to ensure I would not run out mid=way through the show. 6 performances in I cannot see a level difference between the bottle I am using and the spare. A good product that does what it says.

Fantastic Product
This is a fantastic product. I looked at some of the videos for using this on youtube and after a few trials, I found to make a old looking scar, all you have to do is paint it on, the brush which comes with it, is perfectly fine to use, so no need to buy another, I was able to do from little scars to big scars with it. It does take a little practice but once you have the hang of it, you will love the stuff. There was one down side but it makes sense to know it (so read the instructions). When the Collodion has dried and you have finished what it is you are doing (Play, performance etc), when removing the dried Collodion, wash your face and take care to remove it, I also used baby wipes and this helped. It helps to moisten the dried collodion as if you try to remove it without moistening it, it can damage the skin it is attached. even if you moisten it and yo will find this with all Collodion, that you will have what appears to be a mark when it has been painted on the skin for a couple of hours, this is natural as when it is removed there is a layer or two (nothing to worry about) of skin which will come off at the same time, this will disappear :) I will also add, like with any Collodion, that you should NEVER apply to the same spot over and over again once the Collodion has been removed as it will continue to remove layers of skin as you repeatedly take it off and that in itself can cause scaring. Can have a slight smell but nothing pungent, can make your eyes water if you use it to close to the eyes and shouldn't be used on soft skin areas like around the eyes (below the eyes). So overall a fantastic product, which I am very happy with and will buy again. Has excellent outcomes if used correctly.

VERY EFFECTIVE HORRIBLE SMELL!
This product arrived very promptly. It's very little so don't be surprised when it arrives alot smaller then what you expect. Whilst this product is very good I deed I do have to worn about the horrendous smell. The only way I can describe it is the smell of a hospital anesthesia you will understand exactly what I mean when you use it. It works best when used on a more "fatty" shall we say area of skin so that it can pull the skin in from each side tightly. I would say you have to use a good few layers in order for it to really work. But the effect is great It works best when you do it in a thinner line rather then thick depending completely on what look your going for obviously I went for scratch scars. The amount of this is not very much so I can't see it lasting forever but it will definetly do a good round of a few people. Removal is pretty easy just use some warm soapy water, and it will peel off. The only reason I have given 4 stars is Purley because of the smell if you can handle that then great. But made me feel very qweezy. I hope you found this review helpful if you did then please do click the helpful button so that others get to see it too. Any questions just ask I'll be happy to answer :)

Great scars, easy to use
I played a villain in Pantomime that required facial scars and had great results with this product. Had to use about 5 or 6 layers to get a really deep scar effect, but coupled with makeup, it was great. 2 bottled *just* lasted me the run of 10 shows. Got great comments about the scars every time. Would 100% recommend, especially for ease of use. Make sure you let it dry completely in between layers for best effect. It's best to use spirit gum remover to take them off, but if you can't get your hands on any, then you *can* peel off your scars. Be aware it will pull at your skin though, and leave a red mark for a while, so I do recommend removing it properly to avoid sensitivity!

With layers you will get the look you are going for, it will leave a red make on you for a day, it is also very hard to get off

Wow! This worked better than I expected. Everyone thought my scars were real. I used makeup to enhance the scars to look like they were at different stages of healing, and I couldn’t stop staring at them myself. ** I have NO scars on my face. This is all from the scarring solution and applied makeup ** The pulling can restrict normal movement. I recommend either using it in areas that don’t bend or be prepared to have some slight restrictions. Mine was on my face so I had to be careful with facial expressions. Also, I used about 2/3 of the bottle to get the results in the pics. 10/10 would recommend. I did this for a Halloween shoot, and we did some serious hiking in the woods. I got a bit sweaty at times, but most of it stayed on my face. The close ups are the end of the day. Only slight pealing at the edges on some. Buy a removal solution. I didn’t, and it was hard to get off. I saw someone say it just peels off, but removing it that way irritated my skin. I used makeup remover wipes to help, but there was still a lot of pulling from the adhesive. The redness went away in a few hours, but my face was sensitive. Be smarter than me. Lol
