An Andis 3 & 3/4 FC blade leaves the hair 13mm long. I would also suggest you buy Andis Cool Care spray as this is a very good coolant and disinfectant for the blades.

The 4FC blade has a length of about 9mm. If you want to leave the coat 3/4" long, I would suggest either the 3 3/4FC (13mm), or the 5/8HT blades which will leave the coat closer to this length. David Noakes, Diamond Edge Ltd.
