Clear as a bell
Elixir strings are familiar to me, I've used them on my dread nought for years, but I replaced D'Addarios on my Ovation as a trial with some trepidation. No need to worry, light and responsive with great tone and sustain, these Polyweb (previously used Nanoweb) are a joy to play. Elixir do seem to outlast other strings and retain that new string punch for longer so I am seriously considering making the change permanent on the Ovation despite my love of D'Addarios (which are truly great strings). It's early days yet, but if these lightweights perform as well as the medium on the dreadnought, I believe that I'll stay with them. If you are hovering whilst considering Elixir, I suggest that you seize the opportunity and give these a go. HOWEVER-fair enough, they started well but fairly rapidly showed signs of wear, the polyweb coating began to flake off the A and D strings in particular. Elixir produce good, reliable strings normally but these did not impress. I've replaced them with Nanoweb which are as good as I expected. If you're contemplating buying these I'd suggest that you buy the Nanoweb equivalent.

Best acoustic strings out there
I discovered Elixirs about five years ago and since then always use them on my steel-string acoustics. As soon as they go on they sound slightly worn-in, like plain strings that are a day or two old, which is exactly the sound I like. They keep their sound constant for months, even up to a year on a less frequently played instrument. My hands are quite sweaty, so normal uncoated strings only sound at their best for a week or two for me. These are definitely my favourites now.

Best Strings you will ever buy
These are simply the best strings I have ever bought. Been buying them for years and will never buy anything else! I replace my strings once a year, and they still sound great when I take them off! I play my guitar several times a week and they get quite a hammering. They are worth every penny and more. You won't be disappointed with these legendary strings!

Good sound and feel. Expensive but probably worth it.
Used on my parlour guitar and they sound good. Feel is great due to the coating. Not as squeak free as other coated strings I've used, but better than conventional PB strings. Expensive but probably worth it as they will last longer than standard strings before going dull.

What can I say? They're Elixirs!
I switched to Elixir strings many years ago and have never moved to anything else! I've used them on many acoustics and electrics. I used to use D'darrio & martin but the elixirs for me are the best especially because they last so long and if I don't play one of my guitars for many months, it's nice to still have working strings on them when I do pick it up. The last set I got though, the 3rd string broke when I put it on. This was a one off and has never happened before in all the packets I have purchased over the years.

You'll never go back to other strings
Since I first played Elixir strings in the USA I have never bought anything else. If you go down along the guitar shops in New York 48th Street, most of the acoustics will have Elixirs wound up. If you dont like the warm tone and want the "edge" of normal strings, buy the Nanoweb rather than Polyweb, strings. I prefer the Polyweb for tone and use USA dreadnought guitars mainly. THe sound on any decent guitar is going to be good. Rounded and warm are the best words to describe. Also plenty of volume and you largely lose fret-buzz. Its just amazing how long these last. If you don't play every day a set will literally last months without losing appreciable tone. I suspect the difference in longevity compared with uncoated strings is greater in our damp country compared with dry climates. And those with sweaty hands will certainly benefit!

Expensive, but some of the best strings
Use these strings on my 2 acoustic Gibsons. Exceptional strings. You get what you pay for. Sound and play very well. Especially when tuned down a half step.
