How hot is the first heat setting on this hairdryer is it just warm?

First setting is cold, 2nd is warm and 3rd is hot. Hope this helps

What's the most optimal setting of this blow-dryer for short / medium hair, pompadour? Which heat (there are 3)? Which speed setting (there are 2)?

This was a gift for someone and so I’m not sure about settings and heat. I think it probably depends on the length and thickness of hair being styled or dried. Trying the different settings would probably be the best way around this.

it is not feather light but not so heavy as to be any issue for an able bodied person - my wife has no issue at all.
