Review: Lovely potty training book :) - We've just started potty training our two year old daughter and she loves this book! We've started introducing the potty before bath time and before nap time and its just long enough to read to her on the potty so that she stays on there for an adequate amount of time. The hooray button is great because it encourages her to be involved in the story. I like the fact that it talks about both number ones and twos and shows them in the potty (even though my little girl thought it was a sausage!). It describes potty hygiene well and my little girl now knows that she needs to wash her hands afterwards and watches us flush it down the loo. She is also very interested in the page where the princess chooses some pants and loves to sing "up down" when it describes how you pull them up and down! The only thing I dont like about the book is that is shows the princess having an accident on the floor as my little girl thinks this is very funny and, on two occasions, has got up and run off to do a wee on the floor when we get to that page. We have only had the book a week and she has already successfully done a poo and a wee on the potty while reading it. This a lovely, informative book. A must for all toddlers!

Princess Polly's Potty: Excellent starter Book
This is an excellent book. We bought it about 6 months ago based on other good reviews and have only just started actual potty training for our little girl who is nearly 3. Because she's had it for a while, she is familiar with it and it's provided a good learning tool and helped set up the whole process for all of us. It's set out in a simple and light hearted way but still contains all the basics. The book goes through the stages of buying a potty and then buying pants which was a useful talking point when we to buy her some pants. It talks about what a potty is for i.e not for storing toys in or is a hat! And shows a picture of a wee and a little poo in the potty which has created much excitement in our house! She happily sits with the book on her lap and now knows the pages off by heart! When she has success, she points to the relevant pages and talks about it with a press of the Hooray button :-) We are still very much as the accident stage, but the book is useful in dealing with those as there is a page saying how 'we all know (princess Polly) is trying and is such a grown up girl. Recommended buy.

Nice colourful book to help training
Got gifted the Princess Polly’s a new big sister book for my daughter when her baby sister was born and it was not only a huge hit but really helped my daughter adjust to the realities of having a newborn in the house, crying, feeding etc. Bought this book when we started potty training and it hasn’t been quite so effective - didn’t like how it focused on poops being difficult to do as it put ideas in my daughters head when this hadn’t been an issue for her, but I understand it is for many others so is probably great for them. Overall though it’s still a lovely book and helped us on our journey towards potty training. It’s still taken out regularly and is good quality with nice pictures and an easy to follow story. I find my daughter reading it aloud to herself while following the pictures

Decent book. But we have the boy version and bought this thinking it would be different, but it’s not. It’s literally exactly the same but with a different name.

I thought the button would make a flushing sound, but instead it's the sounds of cheers for precious little princess Polly for being so clever when it comes to taking on the potty and its challenges. She decides that she is ready to be more grown up, like her Mummy and Daddy and big brother. I read this book to my toddler with an English accent, so saying "nappies", which is what Princess Polly and her family calls diapers, sound just right! I explain to my toddler, "That's another word for diaper in their country." Princess Polly gets her new grown up princess pants, a new princess potty and even a lesson in proper princess potty rules by Mummy! This book is totally adorable, and it teaches independence, self care and making decisions... and even dealing with accidents with Mummy and Daddy's continuous support. Very good book. Seems long at first, but my 18mo old loves this book! *Doesn't come with British reader :-(
