do these have a rubber strip to keep them in place

No but they have a very snug fit that keep them securely in place.

will it fit a big head comfortable, or to tight

I have a fairly big head (hat size 7 3/8) and it fits fine. It could probably fit a head at least 1.25 times my size. Plus, once you sweat in it once it'll stretch a bit more.

Im a heavy sweather, is this band pretty absorbant

Yes. My son wears it during school athletics to keep the sweat off his face.

What is the width of the headband?

The Men's UA Performance Headband is 2" wide.
