Well made and seems robust
I bought this garden sieve to clean some gravel in our garden. Some soil has washed into the gravel, off of the drive and it was looking a bit of a mess. Knowing that our gravel was 20mm pea, this sieve seemed to have the correct mesh to ensure it would retain the gravel, whilst the soil was washed out of the bottom. After a sequence of digging the gravel out, loading the sieve, washing the gravel in the sieve with a hose whilst shaking (two person task really) and then storing the cleaned gravel into the wheelbarrow for putting back into place - the gravel is now nice and clean and the feature is looking nice again. This will not be a tool I use regularly but it seems to be well built (all metal construction) and the finish (green paint) seems to be suitably robust - so I am reasonably confident it will not be rusting away in my shed between these uses.

Decent value
Good value and decent quality. Easy to use by shaking the soil through, leaving stones on the mesh.

Panning For Gold
Well not quite panning for gold, but I found using this sieve to be quite therapeutic and rewarding. You put a decent amount of stony soil in the sieve (not too much - you'll be surprised how heavy it is and difficult to lift if you overfill!), and then let the magic work. There are two techniques: you can shake the sieve, but this can result in clods of earth and stone flying out the top, but my favoured technique is to hold the sieve with just one hand (so not too much soil at a time), and put your other (gloved) hand into the mixture of soil, rocks and roots and just swirl it around, pressing soil through the sieve holes. The soil which comes out is finely graded and looks of excellent quality. Having read other reviews, I went for the 1/4" / 6mm size and that works perfectly for me. Two points to note: I wouldn't do this with very wet soil as everything will get clogged up - moist or dry soil is fine. And I think it's best to hold the sieve over the place you wish the soil to end up, be it a border or a hole to fill. That way, you know exactly when you have sieved the correct amount. Recommended.

Fab garden sieve
Bought this after spending ages looking at different ones online. This did not disappoint. It’s super sturdy, well made, coated with a green plastic maybe? It’s a really good size and sieves well. It’s a fair weight making it really robust. I’ve not really any criticisms, however, my husband did think it would be easier to sieve if it had a couple of handles on so he’s going to add them himself. I’d definitely buy this again and highly recommend it. Delivered on time and well packaged. Thank you.

Great for sifting grubby gravel
I've used this to sift 10mm cerney gravel in a much-neglected parterre, where it had become 50-60% soil. The siftings contain a lot of fine gravel, but this made the mix great for improving drainage in my clay soil and raised beds, and leaves a very good mix of gravel that is then easy to wash - quick swoosh through a large trug of water. It's transformed the area and saved me from getting someone in to take up, remove and replace all the gravel. Now I just need to top up the gravel I've sifted about 40 square feet so far and it hasn't even scuffed the paintwork. I'd highly recommend this sieve for this kind of activity. It's well made - tough but light - and fits into a mid-sized plastic trug.

Quality OK, but not mesh size advertised - actually 1/2" x 1/4"
I ordered one with the 3/8" mesh - as title and photo shows it is actually a 1/2" x 1/4" mesh. I have used it though, and quality seems OK having sieved about half a tonne of soil for a raised bed.

Riddle me this, Batman.
Tried to clean up a large amount of decorative gravel using this. The first wheelbarrow load of it came up beautifully after power washing it in the riddle. I then realised I'd been at it for an hour and had another 15 wheelbarrows of the stuff to get through, so I promised myself I would return to the task next summer and went inside to play computer games. Great item though and very sturdy.
