BBB Cycling Chain Link Removal Tool 7-12 Speed I Chain Delinker For Road And MTB

I have managed for many years using a chain splitter to pop a rivet to take the chain off, or occasionally removing the split link with a pair of needle-nosed pliers, but I always found it a bit of a faff. I put off buying these for a long time because it seemed expensive for something I'll use for a few seconds about once a month. Finally I bought them and I wish I'd bought them years ago. They are nicely made, feel robust and comfortable in the hand, and they opened the link in my Shimano chain with no effort at all in about half a second. Rejoining the chain is a tad fiddlier, but it is a job which can be done in 5 seconds with this tool. There is no need to file off the stop, as some reviewers have suggested. Just ensure that the tool is inserted deeply enough into the gaps in the links. This tool is a delight to use. I shouldn't have thought about how little time I'd spend using it, but how much time I'd save by using it. I have 2 bikes and remove the chains to clean and wax them about once a month.

Great set of pliers to quickly change any chain which uses a quick link / master link. You can use a set of long nose pliers which are hit and miss but for the money you’re better off buying these. They make chain removal really simple and as it’s easy to snap together and to pull apart. Impressed with the quality

Did the job and save me money on chain fitting fees, if the handles were one inch/2.5cm longer they would have much better leverage when installing a split link, but maybe then it would be harder to take out the split link! I am sure I will learn how to use them better as I change more chains on my bikes.

Had a cheap pair in a kit, they were not man enough to clip the chain link together, bought these to do the job, they certainly did that, 10 secs and the link was closed.

Just what I needed after replacing my snapped chain with a new one then putting the new one on incorrectly!After trying methods online which did not require a tool (to no avail) I bought this tool which worked straight away much more easily. Tool is comfortable to use and chain is not damaged from using it.
