Good mixer!
I have been feeding my two Pooch and Mutt for a few years now. I always stick with the joint care food, but as my two are quite hyper, I thought to try this. Unfortunately, I didn't see a difference. I have used it for about three months, and still, there is no difference; they are still as hyper as always. They will happily eat it mixed with their other food, and neither of them has had any side effects. One of my boys has colitis, and some foods can be too harsh on his stomach. This was very gentle, and he didn't have adverse effects. For a basic mixer, I can't fault it, lots of good natural ingredients and my dogs liked it, but for the calming properties, it wasn't how I expected.

Literally wouldn’t have been able to feed our dog without this food!
Our 14 year old schnauzer has been eating the treats by this brand in the same flavour for years and loves them so much they were the only thing she would eat recently after a bout of illness. She’s had 3 episodes of some sort of ear/ neurological problem that’s left her wobbly, head tilting to one side, but also upset stomach a bit and occasional vomiting. She’s been to the vet a few times and had medications and has started to recover each time with less wobble and head straighter inbetween episodes, but we’ve consistently struggled getting her to eat and she’s been losing weight. We’ve been through so many options- plain boiled chicken, added rice on advice of vet that worked for a bit then suddenly not. Wouldn’t even take sweet potato or her favourite broccoli. Her usual food of a cold compressed food she’d eat little bits of dry but no longer soaked as she used to like it and also generally no to the good quality wet food, tinned fish, various smooth foods- the only thing she would really look for and gobble down was the pouch and mutt calming treats and tiny amounts of chicken and Philadelphia licked off a finger. Obviously not an ideal diet long term but we were out of ideas until I thought I’d look and see if there was a dry food by the same brand we could try. Thank goodness there is and it’s the same flavour. We soak in in some boiling water for an hour to make it soft enough for her to eat but at lunch today she came in looking for something to eat and ate the whole lot in one go out of her bowl ( we’ve also had to try hand feeding her and bought a raised tilted bowl to try make it easier due to her head tilt ). Fingers crossed this continues as the difference in her now she’s getting some food in her and keeping it down is lovely to see. She is back to flirting with her 6 month old Rottweiler friend so she must be feeling much better in herself!

So far so good- 4 weeks in.
I did a lot of research into dog food when we first got our pup, and this came out well in big reviews from customers and reviews from bloggers. Our pup came with Skinners field food which he could take or leave and to me didn't seem tasty so I slowly moved him to Pooch and Mutt. At first I was hesitant as most brands have a puppy specific food, pooch and mutt only have different measurements and say that they're foods can all be used for pups (please double check this but I did ask on live chat on pooch and mutt site, and they assured me as long as I followed puppy amount guidelines I would be fine) so I took the plunge and bought a 2kg of calm and relaxed and 2kg of the direction pooch and mutt. Our puppy definitely finds this more tasty than skinners and we can use this kibble as treats he likes it that much- however the downside to that is he used to space his skinners kibble out and eat when hungry where as this he wolfs down in one. Currently feeding four times per day. He loves both flavours. I would say the digestion and health smells slightly stronger but nothing I couldn't handle, and I'm assuming smelling better is tasting better for the dog so that can only be good. I think we prefer the calm and relaxed more as this seems to fill him and sorry for the detail suit his Bowels a bit more, and his poo is more sturdy on the calm than the digestion flavour. Also I think that the digestion one causes him poo a bit more often hes empty and stalks around the house late at night looking for food. He doesn't do this on calm and relaxed. I wonder if he doesn't need help with digestion as he's so young? In terms of is he calmer I'm not sure, I can't decide whether his initial first few days of being able to be in th living room and racing round and round the table was just excitement at being free or whether as we upped his amount of calm pooch and mutt has a correlation. Either way he is a happy pup and take everything in his stride, from horses to trains to city's to country he just loves life and people. It's obvious this is not the cheapest option but I'm a big believer you are what you eat (I clearly don't follow this advice-or I'd be a chip- but the animals have no choice what I feed them so I chose the best) and so far so good, Hector is happy healthy bright eyed and bushy tailed. I would have liked a more exact guideline as to amount as the puppy guidlelines as you have to guess the weight your pup is likely to grow to (bearing in mind him and his brothers and sisters are all very different builds and sizes yet are all "expected" to grow to average lab size- if you see what I mean- so while ours might reach 20kgs his brother who is same breed and is much chunkier might reach 30+kgs. So I'm not sure how this works. Anyway I follow the guidelines as far as I can, I'm sure there must be a better way. I liked the balance of ingredients and the idea these were protein heavy, along with th other easy to understand ingredients. Overall very happy and will be sticking at leat for now with pooch and mutt calm and relaxed for now, despite the high price. Please note I am only 4 weeks in with our puppy so if this is helpful for anyone I will update in a few months, again with progress.

Must taste good
My dog loves this food amd as soon as I put it down he eats it staright away, so it must taste good. However, I bought this food to help with his anxiety and to calm him down and relax him which it does not seem to do.

Tolles Produkt
