Huge but solid
This is much bigger than expected, and will hold pipes much larger than I need for 20mm conduit. It seems very solidly made. I replaced the nuts with nyloc to make it less liable to come loose. Jaws are quite sharp, wrap pipe or jaws in tape to avoid damage

Good quality and heavy duty
Needed to thread some conduit tube, couldn't get hold of a proper pipe vice. Fixed to the long side of my work bench, worked a treat. Price was reasonable for what I got.

Can’t complain for the price.
Just arrived (a day early), so given it a quick test as a DIYer. Grips well through a piece of cardboard (took note of others reporting jaw-marks; what do you expect. It has to grip a smooth metal surface!!). I’d mounted it on my portable workbench with a couple of clamps. It just works. For me as an infrequent user, it’s perfectly fine. Why spend more - in fact, a trade user could buy three of these for the cost of the next model on Amazon. It’s a very substantial ‘lump’ - not in any way flimsy. Not sure if it’s cast or machined, so would be wary about dropping it. Surprised there were no washers on any of the bolts - but that’s easily remedied. Basically works fine on electrical conduit. Probable ok at its highest range if you were doing big pipe work, but you’d obviously need to bolt properly to a substantial bench for that.

Solid build
Good strong solid bit of kit. Grip seems to slacken after a while, not an issue, but tightening can lead to the conduit showing tooth marks.

Basic, but does the job well
Easy to assemble. Worked very well for my use, which was to hold 25mm galvanised steel conduit whilst threading. As others have noted, sharp teeth can damage conduit/pipe etc… But this is easy to avoid if you just wrap a rag around the conduit a couple of times where the teeth contact before closing and tightening the vice. Would recommend!

Sehr zu empfehlen.
Hält selbst große Rohre anstandslos. Spindel mit Trapezgewinde ist sehr wichtig. Hält mit guten Schraubenzwingen. Ist nicht nötig zu verschrauben, Zwinge genügt

produit de bonne qualité je m'en suis servi pour faire de la découpe de tuyau pour une installation sanitaire et j'en suis très content car si on a pasce genre d' étau pour la découpe des tuyaux c'est la galère je recommande
