This does a better job than every other gadget... Your blade is dull AF anyway!
This is a great sharpener! I've used a lot of methods and gadgets in my time including oilstones and diamond sharpeners... For all the "gadget" sharpeners this one is a winner. Sure there might be purists out there who need organic artisan zen-sharpening for their ultra expensive blah blah chef knife, but that kind of roody-poo is never satisfied anyway. Dude this will whip your blades into a great shape - the freaking thing is already dull AF anyway, amirite? You have nothing to lose. Tungsten Carbide is one of the hardest materials on earth - and this little gem has a pair of reversible TC sharpening stones, so after you wear them down you can flip them over and start all over - plus they sell spares. I use mine in a handheld position like a traditional sharpening steel and the little handguard works to protect my meathooks without even thinking about it. BOOM.... Slide the blade through the handy notch in this sharpener and in a few strokes you're good to go. You can maintain a great edge super fast and carry on as if you were normal afterwards. This thing even does serrated edges if you take the time. *mic drop*

Best sharpener I've ever used
I've been trained to use wet stones, oil stones and all manner of other sharpeners. I've bought gadgets and honing steels. But this little gadget is by far and away the easiest and the best I've used. I had a few knives that needed sharpening so had a lot to practise with. Well within half an hour they were all finished with a beautiful, almost razor sharp edge. Now I'm praying for blunt knives just to marvel at how good this is. I found I didn't get on with the manufacturers instructions, they recommended laying the knife on a flat surface and drawing the sharpener across. My best success came by holding the knife and sharpener in left and right hands and pulling across the blade. This way it was easy for me to gauge just how much pressure I applied. With the knives blunt they needed a firmer pressure. But once they had a new edge, the lightest of strokes brought about amazing results. You can also buy spare parts, so it will last a very long time. This will be my present of choice for many a wedding present, birthday, Xmas any excuse, hell everybody will have one!

Cheap, easy and highly effective!
Used a few methods to sharpen my kitchen knives including stones and tungsten cutters (as this device). Never had great results from tungsten cutters and using a stone just took too long and required a lot of set-up and a learning curve. Was almost going to spend around £100 on a abrasive belt hand held device, but after reading reviews, decided to give the AccuSharp a try - was only £12 so not a lot to lose. To my surprise this is the easiest and effective knife sharpener I have ever used. The first knife had a very dull edge so I had to draw the AccuSharp over the blade about 25 times. After this I could easily slice paper (as a trial) and it cut meat like a chef! Now every time I use the knife I give it 2 passes with the AccuSharp to maintain a perfect edge. OK...I know under a microscope it's not going to be perfect because the methos of sharpening is 'shearing action' which is not as good as micro fine abrasive wheels/belts/stones.....but does it matter....it would be difficult to tell the difference in use. Excellent product. Also, you can get double life out of it by swapping the blades round.

Very Good
This is an excellent sharpener, much better than other carbide sharpeners I had bought previously. It sharpened my pocket folder knives as well as my kitchen knives and even my Sweeney Todd straight razor - all to perfection. Of course this should not be used for sharpening your £150 Spyderco or Zero Tolerance knife, since it actually removes metal from the blade - for expensive blades, you should really consider a ceramic rod set, which does not eat the blade away. For general use/cheap knives, though, this is a fast, simple and efficient tool that is worth the price.

amazingly good
Very fast delivery, sensibly packaged. The sharpener is really extraordinary, I am a chef and have an array of knives and cleavers, both straight and serrated, my old knife sharpener ( not my steel) was terribly worn and ineffective so have been looking for a replacement. I followed the very easy instructions and re honed all of my knives in a couple of minutes, the blades are now super Sharp even the serrated ones . Copes with all sizes of blade incl a tiny pen knife on my keyring. It is also nice and flat to store easily in a drawer. My friend was so impressed when I showed her she ordered one immediately. Has a lifetime guarantee what more could you want.

It works
I was at a conference centre and got talking to the chef asking him how he sharpened his knifes. He said he uses accusharp and showed me it. I thought if he says it works then why not try one. It sharpened my blunt knives to where I have slipped a couple of times and the knife cuts very easily you can even cut a soft tomato. Really very good and inexpensive plus once the knife has been sharpened it only takes a little effort to get it sharp again.

The AccuSharp is an excellent knife sharpener. This will sharpen scalloped blades, such as some bread knives. An excellent product, imho
