MasterClass Cast Iron Fondue Set, 21 x 18 cm – Black Fondue Pot for Cheese, Chocolate & Meat – Enamel Coated with Burner & 6 Forks

Having found a very tasty recipe, that looked excellent for Christmas entertaining, I was at a loss to know where to get hold of a reasonably priced fondue set at short notice. Having seen plenty of sets online that were more than double the price I settled on this one as it looked neat, sturdy and the reviews of it were good! It really is an excellent kitchenware addition. As a beginner to this style of cooking I found the instructions quite clear, the set is easy to use and easy to clean too. The only slight quibble I had is with the forks. I think I was just unlucky with this, but, I'd advise others to check the forks carefully once out of the packaging. I found very tiny rust discolourations on the prongs of two, however with some careful cleaning this was removed. As the rest of the set was completely satisfactory I didn't bother to return it - so this is just a small note. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the set to anyone who wanted to try fondue for the first time, I'm definitely a fan.

Proper fondue like the old days. Been used a few times and always a hit. You do have to learn to close the burner a bit else the cheese will really boil and catch if not careful. It’s heavy and good quality.

I am quite happy with this product and would gladly recommend it. I like fondue because it makes a meal last longer and better than shoving the main course in your mouth in 5 minutes. And it's simple enough so that even non-cooks survive the meal. This set makes it almost a no-brainer. For fondue I prefer cast-iron enamelled pots with burners like these because they last and most of all have none of the highly dangerous wires of electric fondue sets. The construction is sturdy enough not to transmit heat from the boiling pan all the way down to the table. The enamel means the pan is easy to clean and other than some discolouration due to use on the bottom I can't find anything wrong with it. My only gripe is with the burner. Now, the gel cartridges never seem to last the course of the meal - especially when there is the six of you and it's going full blast - and the flimsy nature of the burner supplied with this set really is a pain. Fortunately, I have another burner from a cheese-fondue set which is of an order better and which I use instead. If you intend to use this often, get a spare burner so you don't have to change cartridges on a hot element. Pity yes that it doesn't come with a couple of fuel gel cartridges to get you started but there are lots of offers on Amazon. There you have it: competent product for a low price.

Arrived looking much better enamelled than I had expected. Heavy weight, attractive, easy to clean. Can be used without the scalloped lid. Probably a bit of a struggle if more than 4 use it. Burner fine at its different settings. Used many times (bought over a year ago)

Surely not big enough for 6 people, maybe 2 or 3. But good quality and good price.

Beautiful little set. Only really for four and it would be great to have extra forks.
