EDA - Parasol Base - Plastic, 7202687

We filled it with water and it worked very well for a few days until the dogs took an liking to it - first they pulled the filler plugs out to get at the water to drink even though they have plenty of fresh water at hand. Then the next bit of fun the had with it was sinking there teeth around the top to bottom seam to enjoy the water coming out in little jets. The base has now been filled up with grovel and the filler plug has been stuck in the hole with the small pull out tab cut off. Sturdiness is no match for dogs with sharp teeth.

Needed something quickly and at low cost to fashion a stand for propping up a garden furniture cover to stop water pooling. This fit the bill perfectly. We filled it with water (ironically) and found it to be pretty steady and has so far held up the waterproof cover during the recent heavy storm weather (Ciara, Dennis) admirably. The only tiny issue I had was the neck/collar that twist-fits into the base isn't the most secure so has a tendency to work loose when moving it around. Having said that I've not had any issues with it so far and it will also double up for it's intended purpose as a stand for a parasol during summer so for such a low price this is great value.

This parasol base was just what I was looking for for taking on outings / picnics! (places with a source of water). The base is in two parts, the pole support stored in the base of the main body when not in use. Contrary to published comments, the water / sand storage container was separate to the pole fixing part, so the pole was not standing in water. Smaller size fitted the 30.5 mm pole I have. The base is heavy enough with a water fill (-9kg, which stays in!) to hold a 1.5 m parasol steady. There are depressions in the base to allow lifting the base when full. Yet to try out in a high wind, but probably falls over!

The material doesn't look that is going to last for long. Also there was a bit of plastic inside the base which I am clueless as to what it is. I gave it 3 stars just to be fair as I have just got it and does the job for now. Parcel arrived earlier than expected, very easy to assemble.

Spot on ! Does exactly what it says on the tin. Fill it with water, solid as a rock. I would'nt even bother with sand. Looks good. Does'nt rust. If it gets dirty/dusty, just wash it with the garden hose. What could be simpler. I think come the Winter, i'll empty it, and put it in the shed. As i'm not sure what effect the frost and expanding water/ice would have on it, altho it's faily robust. The pole section seperates, so takes up no space at all when stored. I used to have a fancy metal one. Cost a fortune. Was always getting leaves and debris stuck in it. Then went rusty. This is the way forward for me. And a crackin price to boot. Seller comms and delivery was 5 star too !

Not needed anymore not suitable

Its not pretty, but as a functional base it's good enough and worth the price. The base comprises 2 parts - the main body (which should be filled with sand or water) and the upright which simply clicks in. A note, if you use water it's a good idea to add a little bleach to prevent any ming forming! It holds up my table parasol fine - the pole isn't held in place massively securely but I keep the umbrella section in the shed when it's windy, so not an issue for me. I don't think though that it would last long term if used constantly with something heavy or prone to "wobbling" in the wind - just a watch out!

I'm totally fine with this product. It has removable leg, by screwing you can adjust the tension for umbrella's leg. Filled around a half of deposit with water. No leaking.
