For the money, this stuff is awesome! It's not greasy and smells wonderful. They sent me 3 samples of their other products to try and I'm so glad they did. I like low shine with a good hold and this stuff works great! Definitely my new go-to for pomade.

This stuff is basically perfect. Not sticky. Not crunchy. Not greasy. Just adds a little shine, moisture and hold. Perfect for my short wavy brown hair.

manufacturer cut back on packaging which has detrimental impact during shipping/transit. this product came in its own packaging box or packaging bag prior. now product is just sent in amazon delivery bubble wrap package, cap came loose and product oozed out. contacted amazon for replacement which i did get. hope manufacturer uses more or a better package for product so cap doesnt come loose during transit in amazon delivery.

I need something pretty strong to tame my very straight hair, and this works well, doesn't weigh my hair down or look messy, and it smells good. I can comb or brush it all day and it still holds well.

So I started out with the Trendstarter sampler pack of 4 different styling products. This one, the forming paste, ended up being my favorite. All 4 work great and i used every bit of all 4. The thickening fiber is a very very close second, but I think this forming paste edged it out in the end. Although now that I'm thinking about it more I do remember the thickening fiber was really amazing too, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order a container of it too.

Handles like a bit more of a pomade vs American Crew forming cream, which very much has a slight gel feel to it. Smells amazing, like a subtle men's fragrance. I prefer it much more than American Crew forming cream. I have medium length hair and what I really like is how natural this product is. Not very shiney at all. The hold can be as light as you want or heavier, depending on how much you use. I wouldn't say it can hold as hard as Muk or similar paste products, but if you are looking for a forming cream that smells great, washes clean, and has a very natural look and medium hold, this is a really hard product to beat. For reference, I have used: American crew forming cream Muk paste (orange) Burly fellow styling putty Every old spice product (paste, cream, pomade) This product works the best for me out of all of these.

I have been a long-time user of American Crew products and with a recent order of American Crew hair product a couple small samples of new Trendstarter hair products arrived with my order. When I tried each of the two I noticed a couple of common traits with the Trendstarter products that were issues for me with American Crew... (1) The Trendstarter samples were each of a softer texture which made them easier to apply evenly to my hair. This made it also more efficient requiring slightly less product to cover completely. (2) Each of the samples had a very pleasant scent, another feature that American Crew products generally lacked. I am truly impressed so I just ordered two more items from Trendstarter as I am extremely happy so far.
