good honey
i like this honey , the lid of the jar came dented and there was a little bit of leakage. i didn’t mind it, the jar was already wrapped in multiple bubble wrap layers but still didn’t prevent the leakage. that’s the trade off for getting things that u don’t see in store everyday at ur door. i’ve never had chestnut honey before but been trying out diff types of honey. this honey tastes good with a bit of bitter aftertaste like others said. there’s a lot of complexity with the taste. I’d recommend this honey

Good quality. Real Deal
It is a good honey. Real honey, a full-bodied flavor with slight bitterness just as chestnut honey should be. The shipping was well wrapped but just a little bit of product leaked. I guess it is not always avoidable when it comes to liquids. No complains here.

Not Chestnut Honey - This is Acacia Honey
This is labeled as Chestnut Honey but the product ingredients on the back of the jar state that it is acacia. I only noticed it because we had been given a gift of chestnut honey (which was incredible) and this didn't taste anything like the Slovenian chestnut honey we had. I'll continue to search for true chestnut honey and will be more mindful of looking at the product label ingredients. The only reason I didn't return this is because, since it was opened, I thought they might dispose of the product and I don't like the idea of food waste. If you want TRUE chestnut honey, keep searching....

This chestnut honey tastes a bit sweeter than the chestnut honeys I am used to
Those I am used to: (1) chestnut honey from the Republic of Georgia, from Mira Nova; no longer available from Amazon; (2) chestnut honey from Giannetti Artisans, sold through Amazon, and also directly from Giannetti Artisans in Chicago; (3) chestnut honey from Apicoltura Casentinese in Italy (bought through Amazon, and I do not know if they still have some). They all taste about the same, like real chestnut honey. There are other brands and other suppliers, but these three are my favorites, the only ones I would buy. In my opinion, Gourmanity's chestnut honey tastes a bit sweeter (of course, I could be wrong, I ate only one spoonful) and I do not intend to buy it again. Before you try them all, be warned that chestnut honey has a very distinct taste, somewhat bitter, and very different from the sweet syrupy taste many people associate with honey.

Great taste you won't find in a grocery store
I love honey with a distinct taste, and chestnut honey is the one! Slightly bitter, I'd actually prefer more bitterness, but this one is also great! Goes great with fruit and berries teas, and with cheese

Interesting
Tastes the way horses smell, first taste was mildly unpleasant but I can get used to it. I can't see using this is beverage but would be delicious in bread or pastry. Maybe even marinade for meats. It is an intense flavor of hay and bitterness, I enjoy the bitterness. Very curious indeed and will lend itself to unique recipes.

Not a chestnut honey
This honey is not chestnut. No smell,no taste of it. It is not too bad, but way too expensive for a regular honey. Won't recommend.
