This has been a god send. Our dog was known for eating his food too fast, this has helped regulate that pace and his general health is actually improved. He has reduced bloating and flatulence. The bowl is deceiving big, but this helps with the slow feeding. This design is also stimulating our dog’s mind as he eats, which is another bonus to this item. It is very sturdy and easy to clean, so would highly recommend

If you have a dog who gulps his food down quickly then all I can say is BUY ONE NOW!! I have 3 dogs, one of whom eats particularly quickly. It takes her less than 15 seconds to eat 150g of dry food. I've tried all sorts of measures including silicone mats with raised bobbly bits (she's too clever for that - she just flips it over with her nose) and tennis balls in her bowl (she's too clever for that too - she just picks them out and drops them on the floor before inhaling her food). This bowl, however, has increased her eating time to over 20 minutes. 15 seconds to 20 minutes. That's quite a successful outcome. Watching her, she's totally engrossed and in a little world of her own, trying to work out how to get to the food. She's eaten from it 4 times now and she still can't work out what she should do to make it slightly quicker for herself. After 20 minutes I push what's left round for her but hopefully she'll suss it out over the next few days and manage to get it all herself. The design will still mean that it takes her a long time though. You need a bit of space all around the bowl as your dog will hopefully realise that it has to walk round and round in circles to push the food through the spiral channel. My other 2 dogs realised that during the second use of their bowls. They used to eat 125g within 30 seconds in a standard bowl. Now it takes then 12-14 minutes. I think that my Dobermann's frustrated that they're finished with their slow feeder bowl as she up at one point today and made a puffing noise, when the other two had finished. A bit of encouragement and she was back at it again though. This bowl taxes them mentally and physically. They can't just stand there and gulp their food down. It takes effort to get to it. I only wish I'd known about this product sooner. It's sturdy, it's fairly weighty for a hard plastic bowl, it doesn't slip on the floor and if it has my Dobermann perplexed then it's going to slow down any fast eater, even a very clever Border Collie, I'd say. I bought 3 and I can't praise the seller enough. The seller that I bought from (Super Deals) offered the best price in the UK. Their next day despatch and really fast courier delivery was free. I've now ordered another Outward Hound slow feed bowl (the flower design in grey this time) from the same seller as a present for a friend who has the same problem with her dog. Again, Super Deals offered best price in the UK and I'm confident that the bowl will keep her dog's bad eating habit under control too.

Purchased this item for our 2 year old malamute who could not control his eating speed and had outgrown his previous slowfeed bowl. This one worked like a charm, and he seemed to enjoy the challenge of eating from it. It would be great if it came in other colours but the dog didnt seem to care it was purple :p Have recommended it to friends and family as well.

Good product

I use this for raw feeding my dog. It slows her down eating and makes her essentially "work" for her food. Part of her meat also goes into a large Kong and I freeze it. Give it to her frozen this again makes her work for her food and being frozen it lasts longer than 2 Minuites and stimulates her brain. This bowl is a great large size. My dog is a German Shepard cross dogue de bordeox so quite a big girl and this fits her food init lovely. Excatly what I wanted at a reasonable price.

Very big. But better for dry food. For wet food, it is abit hard for the dog to lick it up unless the snout is very narrow or small. Good quality.

The quality of product is Top Notch. Feels strudy and I suppose i will last long. I ordered because my GSD was used to get mad after seeing his food, it would take him less than 1 minutes to finish one bowl full of food but with this the time increased to 10X. Now he takes around 10-12 minutes to finish his food. As a initial impressions seems pretty useful. I have just got it today and posting this review. We’ve tried several other slow feeders before, but none of them were as effective as this one. There has been a significant increase in my dog’s eating time, and it actually taught my dog how to chew!

This is the second slo bowl we have bought from the seller. It is high quality, and washes up nicely. We have 2 Saint Bernards, and they are food vacuums, which makes them susceptible to having their stomach flip if they eat too fast.
