Excellent skin and eye irritant out to about 10 or 15 feet. HIGHLY recommend!
(2oz Jogger fogger) Sprays out to 15' for a 3 second spray, with a pattern about 6-8 wide. But if the wind turns back toward you.. be prepared for hot skin for a couple of days. Will review further if I need to use it on dogs or people. EDIT: "15' = 3 second spray". What I meant was: It took 3 seconds to spray out to 15 feet. This was from my testing in the back yard. There is more than 3 seconds of spray in the canister, about 9 seconds I would say. Enough for at least 2-4 effective shots. Also, we had a breeze of 10-15 mph coming from the side when testing and i believe that is why I required at least 3 seconds, instead of 2 to get it out that far. Unfortunately for us (I was having my spouse test it also) the wind swirled around. Even though most of it did go out front, a little bit came back. Although it was a light spray that came back, it was enough to sting the eyes and feel a burn on the skin for a couple of days after. I have upped my recommendation from 4 stars to 5 Stars. Not only on the effectiveness, but also the range. When i found out most of the larger, high pressure (7oz, 8oz, 9oz) "bear sprays" claim to only go out to 15'-20'. that's not much more, if any, than this product! *Note: I would NOT recommend this as a "Bear Spray" but would use one that will verifiably work out to 30 or 40 feet instead! Also, I've used some other *cheap* ($3-$5) sprays. Several of which were just a tiny stream that went barely 3-4 feet. Kind of like holding up your male chihuahua and having him "go". Except, he didn't really need to "go" all that badly. Yeah, ALL of those sprays are (were) pretty useless unless the attacker (person, animal, etc) is right on me AND I am able to *squirt* the stream accurately into the attacker's eyes. Nope, uh uh, ain't gonna happen. THIS product, OTOH, is an AREA deterrent. I'm talking 2 or 3 pack animals or people approaching together 10-15 feet away.. they're going to get hit. It's going to burn and.. if they inhale it, they're going to choke for a few moments - or more. Giving you a few moments head start to get running way. Or... while they're temporarily incapacitated, kick them in the groin and/or punch them in the solar plexus or the throat and THEN run away. Maybe give them an extra shot or two in the face before leaving for good measure. So I bought some different kinds, and tried them. This was the best I found. Now on my walks, I no longer carry a cane, or a baseball bat, etc. Instead, I carry one of these in each hand. With the 6' dog leashes slipped over one hand I am still able to hold a canister in that hand, ready to be of use, and another in the other hand - instantly ready for use. Honestly, I really wish I'd had these way back when surrounded by two German Shepherds. With a baseball bat or cane or other melee weapon, they would still have come within 3-4 feet of me for me to beat them off. Even with a gun, I could only shoot one at a time. And.. while focusing on one that still would leave the other open or free to attack from the other direction. Not any more. With two of these I could have easily sprayed them both, at the same time, out to 10 feet or more (maybe even gotten the owner a bit if I was lucky). No dogs killed. No dogs maimed or permanently injured. Just unhappy, and temporarily incapacitated while I walk away. And I'm pretty happy about that. No police involvement, my walk is only momentarily interrupted, and a pretty good lesson for the dog owners. So, for neighborhood encounters, I definitely recommend this specific *fogger* spray. One last note on the 'carrier'. It's not meant to be worn on a belt, but instead to be held in the hand. It's a fabric, non-slip sleeve that fits tightly around the canister slipped into it. And the strap is just a thick elastic band on the outside (see their picture). However, after two years of constant use, neither has worn out nor lost it's elasticity. I'm just as impressed with that as with the canister part of the product. Although 'fits tightly' the canister can be turned around so it's perfect for either hand to use. And still 'fits tightly". The "canister" part may be slightly large for smaller hands, yet still easily held. There is a protective cover on top so you don't accidentally press the 'trigger'. However, it is extremely easy and intuitive to push it up and out of the way. Really well made and well thought out.

High capacity
Fortunately I haven't had to use it! However, the label states that it has enough volume for 35 short discharges. 2 sec blasts are deemed effective and the mfg. promotes testing it out periodically.

Most potent brand available. Read up on what the different #'s/stats mean
How other brands out sell UDAP is a testament to the BS power of branding and advertising. Just briefly edjamuhkate yourself on pepper spray and what the numbers mean. This is a serious face melter. Prior service grunt, been tazed 5 times, chem'd (OC'd) twice and CS'd (gased) 3 times. Chem'd (sprayed is the worst), I refused to do it again. This is THE brand to get. It's twice as strong as 95% of what ever else you might be looking at. If I'm gonna use OC, I want it to totally cripple the aggressor. Just wish they had more stream options. They're heavy on the fog delivery method (which "coverage and effect" wise I get) so spray and move. But I'm more concerned with blowback especially indoors- but that's me. Remember, there's a small but very real portion of the population where this stuff (OC in general) doesn't work on 'm at all so just be aware of that. I've seen it. It's unbelievable when everyone's red, crying and snotty and one guy is just looking around and smiling ear to ear. Spray and run.

Easy To Deploy
This fogger is powerful! It's also extremely debilitating to the assailant, man or beast, for quite a while after being deployed. Having a defensive product that doesn't require precise aim in a moment of extreme stress is worth its weight in gold. Just spray in the direction of the threat and let the fog do the rest. Because of the product's ease of use and wider range I feel it is a far superior and safer defensive OC spray than most of its competitors.

Best Spay for Regular People
This may have saved my life last night. It certainly saved me from serious injury. While on a walk last night a large Bull Mastiff or Cane Corso type dog charged me from across the road. There was a fence but the gate was open and he ran right past it at full speed. One of the owners was outside shouting commands at him but he paid no attention whatsoever. It all happened so fast that I don’t even remember pulling the pepper spray off my pocket where it was clipped. But I do remember spraying him when he was within 5-6 feet of me. The big cloud of pepper spray turned him on a dime. He was close enough that I still remember the look on his face. For all those who advocate gels or stream, I am telling you fresh from this event—if you face a quick sudden charge from a large dog, the probability of you getting a direct shot to the eyes is low. It happens so fast and there is so much adrenaline pumping that you don’t even have time to process or think. I might go out with a gel on a hopelessly windy day, but in general I don’t trust myself to have the composure to use it effectively. Some day I might find myself in a situation where I eat a little blow back. But I can tell you right now, in this situation, getting some blow back is far better than panicking and missing. Remember, YOU MAY ONLY GET ONE SHOT. Always consider this. Are you really sure you can calmly stand there and hit your target? The fog spray offered me a margin of error in a moment when I could scarcely think. If you are not a professional, this is probably the pepper spray to carry. I am so glad it’s what I had. I’m not sure I could have managed anything else.

Simply the best
I've used a few of these products (Sabre, POM) and hands down this stuff is the best. Downright nasty, you don't want to breathe it or get in your eyes but it's there if you absolutely need it. The fact that it comes out as a thick fog is so much better than the stream. You really can't miss. You absolutely should test it but not on a white vinyl fence. This is AFTER scrubbing for 20 minutes. Whatever that dye is it's strong.
