Character Mentor Studio, Workbook 1- Shape Inspiration

Fantastic workbook! Tom Bancroft's shape inspiration has really brought out the creative side! After a few hours, 9 pages of characters had already been inspired by these odd shapes. Great product and lots of fun.

This book is just a bunch of shapes in pages for you to draw in. I had hoped it would have more examples and notes about how to use the shapes.

As an illustrator with a character design background, I was excited to see order this book for inspiration..we can all use a refresher from time to time, so I decided to give it a go. When the book arrived I was eager to look through what I assumed was going to be a working sketchbook..full of fun shapes that included instruction tips/samples. Instead, I got a book with almost no guidance/text/tips, with nothing but shapes a five year old could've scribbled up. Mr. Bancroft, I respect your work as an artist, but this was an extremely disappointing display of "inspiration". Artists or anyone thinking of ordering this, don't waste your time. If I could, I'd give this book a zero.

for me this book is just perfect to practise and training my imagination to draw cartoon faces. Now, i see all the potential of differents shapes and not only the basic circle.

This a workbook that contains pages with various shapes to be used to create characters. Great for practicing on your own or with an instructional book. This book does not contain any instructional content—only pages of shapes.
