Behringer C-3 Studio Condenser Microphones

This is a very good microphone. t is a condenser Microphone so also requires a Phantom power supply.or a few extra pounds it provides 3 different capture settings rather than the 1 of the C-1. In each mode the capture is excellent compared to a dynamic microphone. Many people compare this microphone to much more expensive microphones and rubbish it. I would agree, but price per performance is excellent. Comparing this microphone with others in its class it wins hands down.. It was good enough that I bought another for my home sound studio. I largely do voice recording with this mic, and for this task it performs amazingly well. In use it is well worth using a pop filter, and this really does improve its response. This microphone is designed to work on a stand only and a shock absorbing microphone stand does make the difference. If you want a fantastic microphone with a name then you have to pay the price. If you want a very good microphone at a budget price then this is the one to get started with.

I was concerned that this microphone was not going to sound as good as more expensive makes because of it's price difference. Those concerns vanished once I plugged it in and used it. There were some reviewers that said it was very noisy, I didn't find this. The noise level is very slightly higher than the more expensive makes but I record onto a laptop using audacity and then use a noise gate to reduce the high frequencies at low levels which removes any hiss you do hear but makes the vocals sound very natural and crisp. I use the microphone to record vocals for radio programmes and this microphone gives a very flat and natural sound. I didn't find I needed a wind shield or a shock mount. If you angle the microphone on the supplied bracket on a microphone stand and talk slightly over it rather than straight into it you don't tend to get popping. I did try recording with it set to omnidirectional in the middle of a room and it picks up uniformly around the full circle. I'm very happy with it, it is a great product at a very good price. Just remember you need a phantom powered mixer or interface for it, which I already had.

For sound quality, this microphone is very good, and I have been using mine for months in my home built recording studio. I would say if you are a beginner, then this is not the microphone for you. There are so many things that I had to learn to get the balance right etc through my mixing desk, but once i got it sorted out It was fine.

I recently bought a Behringer C-3 microphone ostensibly on the basis of the reviews at Amazon. I have not been disappointed and my band mates have also been very impressed. I bought it to try out as an affordable single mic solution with a small PA to re-inforce vocals in our acoustic string band. The first time out we found it re-inforced our whole sound, with very little in the way of feedback problems. We plugged it through a mic pre-amp/Phantom power unit (M-Audio 2 channel Audio-Buddy) and used a shock mount. We have also tried the mount included with the mic, which was fine and ideal for emergencies (who forgot the shock mount!). The sound reproduction with this set up is excellent - warm and realistic, which is just what we wanted, though a decent pre-amp is required. Another reason for buying this product is the pattern and filter switching, which were not available on a more expensive recording mic that we have tried. Here, the C-3 offers a good degree of flexibility, depending on the details of the situation we find ourselves in. The Behringer C-3 is well built and well presented, being complete with a bespoke mount and hard plastic foam lined case. It represents excellent value. very good mic for the price. like surprisingly cromulent.

This mic is good looking, has a good hard case, came with 2 different mic stand adapters, is flexible but did not meet my needs which I considered to be fairly simple. It has 3 modes of operation: cardioid (front focussed), cardioid (front and rear focussed) and omni directional. It also has a 10dB base cut for recording instruments that need it. Being a condenser mic it also requires a 48V phantom power connection. However, it was not able to perform in the way I was hoping it would. I have a small rehearsal room (12ft square) where 4 of us sing and rehearse with keyboard backing. I wanted this mic to work in omni directional mode to record us singing new songs so that we could review the recording and see where we were getting it right, and where needed more work. My vision was keyboard auto playback and the 4 of us standing around the mic; I tested it with just two of us. So, I'm not looking for an elegant CD-quality recording that we could (for example) put on our website, but rather just something useful to our rehearsals. The mic was connected to a Windows 10 desktop PC running CuBase Elements 11 and using a Focusrite 4i4 audio interface which is renowned for its excellent mic preamps. I found that the input gain control on the 4i4 needed to be at max in order to get a reasonable signal level to record, and at that level there was a lot of background noise even when everything was quiet. If I turned down the gain until the background noise subsided then there was not enough signal to make a recording, and the Focusrite indicated "insufficient signal". The resultant recordings were not good enough to be used for our intended purpose, and so I returned the mic. However, before returning it, I tried looking at YouTube reviews of this and other room mics. One particular review of 4 such mics, two at budget prices like this one, and 2 far more expensive ones were really excellent reviews, were using a Focusrite 18i20 audio interface, and also reported that the signal level from this mic was rather low. That same review concluded that multi-functional mics, like this one, were a compromise and that if you were only going to use it in one particular mode (in our case, omni directional mode) then you'd get better performance buying an omni directional mic and not one that has switchable modes. After thinking long and hard about it, because I really liked the idea of this mic, I sadly decided to return it.

I have been using this mic for a few months now and am really impressed with the quality of it. The sound is crisp and clear, the build is solid and it is a great price. Highly recommend as a budget condenser mic. The multi directional options is also a fantastic feature making it incredibly versatile

I am only just getting into making music recordings using my voice and electro-acoustic guitar. I am using this mic with a M-Audio Fast Track. This mic has worked out well and produces a nice enough sound. Remember that this Mic requires that you have Phantom Power, which my M-Audio supplies, otherwise you will not hear much as the volume will be too low. I have tested the different settings on the mic and found that although not perfect, the 3 settings (cardioid, omnidirectional or figure eight pickup patterns) work reasonably well. Using the cardioid setting is particularly useful to me as it help block out much of the hiss generated from my PC fan. For the price, I think this is as good a mic as you are going to get. I have seen in forums that you would have to spend more to improve on it, but I have also seen that people argue that if you understand how to set up your environment optimally, you may find spending more on a mic to be pointless as the amount of improvement to the sound is not worth the extra. Once I had tweaked all my settings and recorded from the correct distances etc, I had a surprisingly clear recording. So I would recommend this to others who are just getting into making recordings of whatever nature as a good affordable starting point. I for sure do not feel the need to get anything else and I think that will be the case for a while.

I've researched and researched on budget mics. My budget was about $100 for a decent studio mic for my music hobby. I originally opted for an AKG Perception 120 but then I came across the Behringers. I picked the C-3 because of the multi-pickup patterns, roll-off and filter switches which allows for wider sonic possibilities. I was reluctant to purchase because there hasn't been any reviews for it. But I eventually decided to give it a shot because one, the price difference between this and the AKG was about $40 which allowed me to buy a mic stand and an XLR cable. Not bad. Secondly, it was a hobby. All I needed is a much better mic than the one I had which was a cheap $9 mic. Physically, it's heavy, giving it that robust, hefty feel but I won't be too adventurous knocking it around. Didn't come with a manual but you can download one from their website. Comes with a foam padded case, which is nice. The mount is a bit flimsy, I think. You can only screw the mic in and position it on its swivel in such a way that the mic doesn't droop because of its weight but it's not a big deal and there are other ways to work around it. Testing the mic... so far so good. I've only recorded one song with it. It is indeed far better than the cheap old dynamic mic I had. And since I haven't used any other mic in its class I have no way of comparing it. But in my opinion, it provided a clear reproduction on vocals. The mic's directional patterns worked as it should. It was able to filter out my noisy PC which I thought was amazing. I still need to learn proper mic'ing techniques though. I believe I can get even better results from it as I learn how to work a small home studio. I will update this review as I get more familiar with the C-3. The reason why I give it four stars is because I really like it but I can't give it 5-stars until I'm able to compare it with other mics in its class and price range. I won't give it anything less because in my opinion, it sounded great and I'm happy with it so far. It's not a "magic mic" that will turn your music into grammy winners. You need to learn proper recording techniques and know the limits of your equipment and software to get good results. I'm not one to blame the equipment for bad results. This microphone does what it says it does and I'm happy and satisfied with my recordings so far, using this mic. I have two songs on Reverb Nation dot com. Just find artist Mario Gozum or Pill to hear how the mic sounds the way I recorded and processed it. I use a Line6 UX2, Reaper and free VST plugins.

Ho registrato con microfoni più blasonati con una qualità inferiore. Uso Cubase e una line 6. Se si sa usare bene i programmi si possono fare cose molto interessanti.
